Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make. I'm starting to feel like we should pass on this deal and wait until summer.

I'm fairly confident that Boston is not going to offer Tatum and even IF they do...AD is still going to bounce from Boston if that deal goes down.

Also, if we wait until summer...we won't have to give up 4 future first round picks....it'll likely drop down to 1 or NONE...

demps has been undercut...again. he agreed to a good deal with the lakers...again. and the small market owners and boston prevented it...again.

demps already got to hear through the local beat writer that he's being fired in two months (all class, pelicans!).

it's not his choice to make. it's NO's ownership, whom i'm sure has been on the phone with ainge while their demoted gm was fake negotiating, again just like last time.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Nobody said a damn word when Kyrie demanded out of Cleveland and got traded to Boston. Nobody said a thing when clear tampering went on to get Chris Paul to Houston. Media hated on Jimmy Butler for being a bad teammate when he demanded out of Minny, but when the trade actually went down, and he went to a bigger market for.. Saric..and I can’t even remember what else, who said the Wolves should have taken a stand? This is only an issue because it’s the Lakers, and because it’s Klutch/LeBron. Same as PG was an issue, same as Kawhi was a villain for it being known that we were an acceptable destination for him.

The owner can override his decision though, I do feel sort off bad for Demps in this regard. He's gona get fired regardless this off-season and he doesn't want to be known as the guy who gave away a franchise player to the most hated team in the League lol

    Good s*** here fellas!

So known CBag tool Mannix wrote this in his recent article:

Hey dumbf***...Ainge is trying to manipulate Kyrie by believing that trading for AD will make Ky resign...your boy Woj said as much in nearly all his articles. "Disrespectful" much?

How tone deaf is Boston right now?

By the way, the Ramona report of LA being "pessimistic" that his deal won't get done now, is a great negotiating tactic. They are threatening to remove themselves from the discussion cause they're losing hope in it...Pels, your move now. You wanna call our bluff?

    2 days left...

Lol...so the "Kyrie doesn't want to be tied to AD/KD" story came from Chris Mannix? I should have known better...

Man...I just want Thursday to come and go...how fitting is it that we play Boston on Thursday too? And All Star draft is that same night isn't it?

I'd give some serious consideration to "pulling" the offer. That achieves several goals. First, it tells the young guys they are off the market for now, and creates a better locker room culture. Second, it shows NOP that they overplayed their hand. NOP will still shop AD elsewhere, but they wont likely get as compelling of an offer, making ours look better. Third, no offer is really "off the table" anyway, it is symbolic mostly but shows NOP that a straight deal is no longer our main priority- we will wait to get AD later or will make a deal for another star.

That approach looks to salvage the locker room and the season, and still plan for the future.

I'm sure we'll have our media outlets publish that Magic and Rob "walked away" or "pulled the offer" when in reality, they will probably keep negotiating until the end of the deadline.

It'll achieve everything above from the public eye, but will also let the Pelican's know that they still have the best package.

Meanwhile, ESPN will have articles stating how "Magic FAILED" and "Boston's package most likely BETTER". Just gotta manage expectations now. AD was an afterthought in the beginning of this season, we really didn't even think it was a possibility. We should just keep moving forward, get better, test free agency, then come back to the table.

This will be a "fun" game. We'll learn much about BI (Kuz is playing but injured, right?). I want him to go at Tatum will all he's got, no off plays, no slacking on D. Just step on his throat.

let's trade lebron to NY, CLE, or PHX for their 1st round pick and try to get zion

pair zion with the young core and then go after a couple max FAs in the offseason

The problem is that now our guys are pissed for being on the table.

Honestly that is going to be a huge problem later down the road.

Why should a guy like Kuzma be loyal to us?

I hate that people's names are thrown around. It becomes irreconcilable at some point. Terrible for these 21 year old guys.

if this does drag into summer, which it probably will, it will be highly entertaining to see the Pels ask other teams for 4 first rounders, 4 second rounders and 80% of their rosters

my only concern now is the psyche of our young guys...a lot of bruised egos in that already broken locker room right now

Am i the only one wondering about team's chemistry after this failed trade?
Our roster is "dificult" to put it mildly and now our young guys may feel betrayed. Drama, drama, drama... good luck Luke. Stash some of these brownies for later ;)
