& this is why the Cap Space plan is the best plan.. Free Agents will come here, but Teams don't want to trade us their Franchise Players.

I'm going to reiterate a point or question, if you will, I made earlier in this thread. Pelicans have sat AD and removed him from all their marketing to include the intro. If they do not deal him before the deadline then he has a grievance against them. How are they going to move forward for the rest of the year with AD? They can't play him. They can't trade him. I think they showed their hand when they overreacted and did that.

For me I'd love to keep Kuz and Rondo if we got to give up a lot of pieces. In any case, Pelicans screwed themselves. They don't trade AD he def doesn't sign with whoever he gets sent to on that 1-yr rental IMO.

I would have given them anything they wanted; PG is a top 7-8 player right now. Who are we signing this off-season? If Davis doesn't come here, we might be left with 1-year rentals or you're trading for Lilliard (after they get bounced out again) or Beal?

We're not getting anybody of significance in FA, IMO.

f*** PussyP, his camp was the one floating the don't trade for me, I'll be there so I don't end up like KnickMelo narrative, or are we believing that revisionist history all of a sudden.

Get it done. Zu and Hart don't amount to anything in the grand scheme. Not with our plans, at least. Only player from today's reporters I'd rather not give up is Rondo, but if that's what it takes...

We need AD to get that 3rd guy. Father time is searching for Bron and is going to find him soon. You can't waste that signing.

The waiting plan has f***ed us every time and will continue to do so.

This year will be rough with Melo getting 30 mins some nights, but oh well. Where's Tierre Brown at these days?

I agree. I think the Lakers move to float the Jabari Parker story was to tell Pelis they are moving on. Perhaps what is needed at this point is a better 'leak' - e.g. a 'story' that indicates that Lakers are 'discussing a trade with Orlando for Vucevic' or 'discussing a trade with Portland for Lillard' in which some of the pieces that had been offered are in play. Might get a phone call, might not. Might get Lillard for less than what is in the deal currently and retain ability to make a low-ball offer this summer for Davis when the C's do not include Tatum.

Umm, look at my posts; I said last year: "don't be surprised if PG stays in OKC because I was reading the tea leafs. Additionally, if you look in the LeBron thread, it was me and @therealdeal (maybe a few others) who thought LeBron was coming...

So, don't put me in that company, please. I'm normally an optimist, but we've made some mistakes along the way (most notably: PG)...either way, we better have a very good contingency plan.

If New Orleans says, “give us Zubac and Hart and we’ll call it a deal”, then yeah you can’t turn them down over those guys.

But I wouldn’t just go ahead and offer them to sweeten the deal. The current offer is damn good already. It seems like NO legit just doesn’t want to deal AD to us before the trade deadline. Proactively adding more players to the package without NO specifically asking for it in a counter just makes us look desperate. We don’t want NO thinking that they can come back to our current offer, and even more, come July 1st.

NO is just playing us. The final decision makers don’t want to deal with us, so they won’t. Time to move on.

    That won't take long; if we're getting a star, it's going to be by trade, imo. As I've said, I'd go after Lilliard and then Beal;

Anyway, we can discuss this after the trade deadline.

IMO the lack of development is overblown. Way more damaging has been the lack of reasonable roster health. Ingram's handles are really improving along with his short game, Kuzma's been hampered last several weeks with the hip, Zo starting to blow up again, FTs aside, after coming back from 1st injury only to be injured again (still showing amazing flashes of how special he's going to be), Rondo out twice with hand plus the suspension, Ingram suspension and games lost to injury ... plus the long injury to LeBron. With reasonable health whole different story right now.

Yep. So upset today; we offer everything and the kitchen sink to only be shut down - again.

Getting old; and LeBron is already having health issues. Sigh. Hope we make something happen and soon.

Seriously, f*** the Pelicans man. Good luck getting Tatum and whover Boston drafts with all those picks in the draft.

I have never seen this many details of a trade leak in any sport.

Another reason I call BS on all these supposed updates.

this would be the worst kept negotiation in the history of sports.

Hard to feel confident on a deal getting done.

I’m very confident fans are being worked right now with a lot of BS.

Time to finally just tune out the noise and let this play out.

There was a Gasol deal years ago with Cleveland that kept getting leaked; I remember Mitch saying something to the effect of "most of the reports aren't true; and it's good for Twitter, but they can be very inaccurate..." I can't remember the exact quote; point is, that deal never materialized, and when this many leaks come out, I think the chances of it happening are very slim, IMO.

I actually remember that. I feel like this is worse. I can’t say a deal will happen but I just think most of this is BS.
