Nance is on a pogo stick. He's active. His shot is ugly as hell, but I take it most of his finest contributions will be on the glass and on defense.

Yeah, how could coaches or his dad not get him to keep his left hand on the ball with normal good form when he was younger? Is that something worth working on now at this age, or would it just mess him up?

OK. Epiphany. I'm done thinking rydorker (sp) is unquestionable when he gets into his supposed negatives on players' "draft reports". I mentioned half seriously before he's sometimes killing guys in specific areas and me personally, I'm not seeing the same thing. Case in point Anthony Brown he ripped for quickness and defensive potential. I'm not seeing that at all. I see a very quick with his feet, reasonably athletic, very coordinated player. With a to die for shooting stroke....who looks like a "player".

Any so called expert, especially internet one, that claims to have any sort of track record on draftees or other prospects is lying through their teeth
    or is just lucky.

Draft is, and always will be a crapshot. You don't need more proof that the amount of 2nd round picks that become stars or very good players in the NBA.
You may have a better eye for talent (Logo) or crazy ideas (Hinkie), but in the end you can't estimate:

    1. work ethic
    2. how money will affect a young adult
    3. specific team dynamic (see Brown, Kwameeeeeee)
    4. injuries (both to draftee and his teammates)

    and much much more.

Anyway - Brown has the tools. He is smart (clearly), has a great shot mechanic and high release, reasonably athletic and has a height/length to shoot over people.
That's good enough for me for at least 2 years, as long as there are no immediate warning signs - I am willing to let guys develop.

I'm alright with what he did on the court. He is a 2nd rounder, he isn't supposed to be above average. In the 2nd round you either go with someone who is great at one thing (defense, shooting etc.) or someone who is average at most things. Brown is rather average with defensive potential and a great stroke. That's a good choice. Otherwise he would have been a first rounder obviously.

I really liked his 2nd game compared to his 1st one. He was way, way more active out there defensively. He moved with purpose. I'd like to see him get more aggressive and confident shooting the ball. Defensively though he looked a hell of a lot better.

I think he needs time to kind of adjust to the new speed of the game, but I see the potential there as a 3&D guy.

Anthony Brown is putting together a decent Summer League for a rookie role player.

He's averaging 6.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 in both steals and blocks. His FG% numbers don't look great but that's because he's really not shooting that much. He's 6-14 overall and 2-8 from deep. If just two more of those outside shots fall his numbers change a lot. He's also 6-6 from the FT line and he's been playing good, active defense.

I wanted him to make me a believer and I still think he needs to shoot better from outside, but I like him.

I like him too. Agree he needs to shoot better. I'm thinking he just needs a little adjustment to the 3 point line in the NBA being a little further back than the college line. Same goes for D'Angelo.

Mr Invisible. The guy gives you next to nothing out there and he's playing 30 mins, when the hell did he earned that?
Russell has been on and off and Randle was aggressive pre/early benching but they are the #2 and #7 pick, no reason pick #~30 should be playing more than them!!!

I saw some good defense from him here and there, and he usually hits his open 3s, but yeah, he's pretty invisible out there most of the time. I still think he has a chance to become a good 3 & D player in another year or so.

There are good things about him, size, length, 3's but the guy looks lost half the time out there. He needs work. He rarely plays but when Kobe's out he's suddenly the starter, we do have Nick and Metta healthy.

He's one of those guys that needs to play next to 2 or 3 explosive scorers and he gets to D and shoot 3. I don't think this guy can be relied on to get any offense of his own or make any impact.

He isn't an NBA player right now. He might be one day, but he's not right now. Why he gets so many minutes is an absolute mystery.
