Mike Bresnahan ✔ @Mike_Bresnahan And...surprise! Lakers waive Anthony Brown. He was their second-round pick last year.
Never did anything to warrant a spot IMO. Couldn't knock down open shots, defense was solid at times and other times didn't much or an impact on that end. You can't have a guy who can't shoot and is pretty much an average defender. You need to be able to contribute in this league. Brown couldn't. Wish him the best.
He was a shooter to begin with and we wanted to turn him into a 3 and D. Funny enough, his D was better than his shooting.
Wow! I'm amazed, and a bit sad or him. I really liked AB in a lot of ways, but he just has this mental shooting block, and the team could only give him a pass for so long.
we only had him for a year lol we labored thru Ryan Kelly and Sacre's contracts but we let this kid go so the corpse of Ron Artest can sit on our bench
True... Who knows if we plan on bringing him back. I did like his defense in the preseason. His shooting though...
Honestly, my reaction at first was like: "And they kept MWP???" And then I realized, Brown hasn't really shown any improvements on the court compared to his younger peers (D Lo, Clarkson, Randle, Nance , etc.). Robinson gives us hustle, Nick Young is what Brown should've brought to the team and MWP provides leadership / mentorship to the young guys. Can he be signed to the D-Fenders though?
Haven't been posting much, but logged in to post about how happy this makes me. There was never one thing that stood out from Brown to me. His shooting was terrible & him making a few shots during the pre-season did not change my mind. His defense was ok, but that was basically it. Sacre/Kelly/Brown gone! Glad we kept T-Rob
