odd that he didn't just go to a contender so that he can be mothballed for most of the year. guy has problems staying on the floor. i imagine more explanation is coming? luke does know him from gs, and he is someone who can play offense the way we're supposedly wanting to play it.
Cool, welcome aboard. What's his health status? I thought he had a pretty serious injury last year? I'd imagine this is mainly for depth and veteran leadership. Second string rotation minutes should still be Zubac's to lose.
Andrew Bogut to sign with Lakers for 1 year, $2.3 million Free agent center Andrew Bogut has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, agent David Bauman of ISE tells The Vertical. ESPN's Ramona Shelburne says the deal is for the veteran minimum $2.3 million, according to a source. Bogut suffered a broken leg during his Cleveland Cavaliers debut in February and missed the rest of the season. Bogut had earlier reached a buyout agreement with the Philadelphia 76ersthen had several contenders vying for his talents -- a 7-foot rim-protector with play-making abilities. He ultimately chose the Cavaliers, but his stint there ended just 58 seconds into his debut. Bogut collided with the Miami Heat's Okaro White and suffered a fractured left tibia. At the time, the Cavs said Bogut would not have surgery but would instead undergo "an extended period of immobilization and healing stimulation. Sources in late June said Bogut is roughly two weeks from being cleared for full basketball activities after recently being cleared to resume running and jumping. NBA teams have been receiving updates from Bogut's agent, David Bauman, with the 32-year-old rehabbing in Australia. Bogut, 32, holds career averages of 10.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks across parts of 11 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks.
Brook gets injured a lot so this is a great backup option if one of our big men get injured. Plus maybe Zu isn't ready for prime time just yet
Would make it easier to package Lopez at the deadline....along with Deng? Lopez, Deng, Randle, Clarkson.........LeBron James, come on down!
Well, 12 min a game might be good. Less likely he gets hurt if he plays 6 min at the beginning of the 2nd and 4th quarters.
if its just a fractured tibia, then its not as serious as say an acl or ligament tear in his knee which i thought it was. the signing could be an indication to make some moves before trading deadline.
