How classy of the Lakers to cover that moment in real time with the cameras. The guy will always have that to show for all the years of hard work. What a bunch of good guys the Lakers have in their FO and in their organization now. Joey Buss looking good too. Pelinka must have sold him on his Herbalife products and has his hooks in him now to earn for him in the tier below.
Some of the comments in this thread are pretty harsh. I love that the Lakers did this when they didn’t have to. At the end of the day it’s about people and it’s why I love the Lakers. They treat people right unlike other franchises.
Dude was a machine in the 3pt contest. I hope the nerves don't get him tonight and tomorrow and he shoots well.
Most feel good loss of the year, if that makes sense. Hope he keeps it up and earns a contract here or somewhere. He's got the weirdest yet effective release I've ever seen. He has zero follow through. Just flails his arms and legs to the side like a jumping jack.
...looked like Andre Braugher and shot lights out like Uncle Drew. Livened up the game. On the last play, Houston knew what's up and wouldn't let him see the ball. Really cool to see the bench going bonkers for him.
Wow, what a night! So good to see him have a fantastic NBA debut in front of his family with the crowd chanting MVP and the bench going nuts. That was really cool. That line was sick - 19 points on 6 of 8 shooting, plus three blocks!! Sweet!
AI was ballin'.....lol. His 3 point percentage translated nicely as he is hitting 80% from long range in the NBA.
That was sweet. 4-5 from 3 was just awesome.3 boards 3 asst a block and a steal. That young man has a bright future Too bad the rest of the team thought they could shoot 3s too and went 6-31
What a great story for this dude. Even if it only lasts 2 games, he put on a show, he got to play in the NBA for the Lakers, it’s just cool. Seriously though, of all the players called up this season, and the 3 point shooting we desperately lacked early on, and never a shot for this guy until now? He might not be an NBA player, but he might have been more useful than GP2 or Ennis at times, who knows.
I honestly got really pumped every three he made, and went nuts! This was a feel good story, definitely enjoyed his game. I really hope he gets a contract next year. The best part of all this was the Lakers look really really good with this type of publicity. I'm sure the free agent players will look at this moment and realize what a great organization we are. Not just Hollywood and drama but a good front office inside out.
