This is what I have gathred from this story so far.

Mikhail Prokhorov and Kirilenko are supposedly good friends. He (Mikhail) wanted to do AK47 a favor by sending him to a contender so when the Nets agreed to trade him to the 76ers, one of the stipulations was that they would waive him. That way, Kirilenko could sign with a contender.

After the trade though, the 76ers GM, Sam Hinkie, decided not to waive Kirilenko. Instead, they wanted him to play so that they could raise his trade value and get something in return. Hinkie and the 76ers repeatedly told Kirilenko's camp that they would not waive him and that he needs to report to the team.

Kirilenko has failed to report to the team, but one reason for this is because he has family medical issues.

Now, Hinkie decided to suspend him without pay.

Supposedly, other GMs are starting to get leery of negotiating with Sam Hinkie.

My best friend is a Sixers fan, he's kept me up on their dealings. From what I gather, Hinkie is a terrible GM. You can't rebuild a rebuild, but all this guy does is look to the future, tanking, draft picks, trying to trade any good players they DO have. You can't ever win that way, no players are going to come to the worst roster in the NBA, and super high draft picks are never going to matter if they don't see the court or always have a garbage team around them. And this situation, well now he seems like a poor GM and shady.

I honestly don't give a crap about this franchise. If the NBA isn't going to step in and do something, then who cares? They're making a strong case SINGLE-HANDEDLY against tanking. Just shocking how open, honest, and blatant they are about trying to lose. At least we try to pretend we're not tanking. At least the Knicks are a train wreck on accident. This is a franchise that's purposely crashing the tank into the mountain and doing it repeatedly.

They've got some good young pieces in Carter-Williams, McDaniels, Noel, and Wroten, but seriously none of those guys is a star. Is Embiid if/when he gets healthy? Who knows? But you're not going to attract a star with a bunch of decent young players and a bred generation of losing as a franchise. They're going to continue tanking until they're lucky enough to find the next star in the draft. How long will that take?

Could be never the way they do things, real. They might get a star, but with a garbage team and awful front office philosophy, he'll bolt. They're doing it the absolute wrong way IMO, makes me grateful for our situation as mediocre as it is. At least Mitch and co aren't about blatantly losing and not caring.

Great point. Who the hell would WANT to go there as a free agent? I mean unless you pick ALL of your stars that you'll need to compete for a title, you're not going to be successful. OKC drafted Durant, Westbrook, and Harden and STILL haven't been able to win a ring.

From what I'm getting from the Russian press, AK47 and 76s GM had a oral agreement, that AK solves his family health issues and 76s don't disturb him until like March 2015, but 76s broke the agreement...Who would want to play for these guys anyway? Any fans still fill the stands there? They are tanking for a decade now...LOL
