I want this team to get younger and more explosive. I want full youth movement.

No b******* Rob!!!!!! I’m tired of the b*******.

I want Rui back I want Zaire Williams I want Marvin Bagley. I want Peyton Watson. I want Toni Eason. I want Jalen Duran.

I’m going to say the quiet part out loud. I want to be black and athletic. I want to get black and athletic.

You got two slow white guys as your franchise cornerstone.s. You better add some Brothas.

but you want to add another white guy.

    Knicks all black starting 5.

So batter up. This is all on you Rob. We ain’t stupid Laker fans ain’t stupid. You ignored Lebron you did. You know you wanted this. And we all get it.

in the words of Kobe Bryant Be careful.

if you’re going to do it this way we want a young balanced team.

who makes us more balanced and athletic. I’m sure you’ll pry Mitchell Robinson. What do you have????

Don’t just tie the money up. You got all the money. So much cap space. Like Pac said in Juice. Like they said in juice to 2pac you got all the juice now. And Rob your Omar Epps what are you going to do with it???????

    first, this lady knows nothing.

second, kennard and mamu are clearly room exception guys. robinson and hachimura are both mle-level guys. you *might* be able to fit one of them on top of watson (if you could even get him, which you can't, imo).

nah, they're going after the big fish.

yeah, him opting in was a gift to us in several ways. protected us against our big bids in FA failing, provides leverage in trade talks, serves as an expiring trade piece, and, worst case, he's a playable starting center at half the cost of a backup these days.

When all the dust is settled we will be running it back. LeBron will be on a 1 year deal. Rui will be back. Not to sure about Luke. Lakers just drafted a rookie and I think he won't be shelved.

Sounds good to me. That's a good list. I would want more vets and maybe a little more of something else there....but otherwise....I like that list. Honestly, we should bring back Smart, but whatever. I think it has to be a choice between Rui and Smart and Rui feels like the better option overall.

Yeah. I would like to see us find a way to bring back Smart but that sounds like a done deal.

I feel like with LeBron gone, you can't lose him, Smart, Rui and Luke so I think returning Rui and Luke stops the bleeding a bit and can work with the right additional guys brought in around them

I kind of think it's the opposite. With LeBron out there is no "run it back with a few improvements on the edges" back. I think we're going for wholesale change. At this point, I'd be a little surprised if any of those three guys are back.

Dude!! WTF do you think they have been doing last two drafts and with the reported FA targets, and it's not like some "whiteys" can't jump and be quick and athletic. Put the stereotype broad brush down. Re the bolded part up top .... yeah there's a reason it's quiet and not just blasted out with no thought to what the team is actually doing. And spell Duren's name right for chrissakes, the e is no tougher to push on the keyboard than the a.

I don't necessarily disagree. Just feels like a lot of productive players to try and replace based on the current market.

They could definitely know some things we don't which would be great.

assuming we strike out on the RFAs, i think these still-unsigned FAs could theoretically bring things we could use:

    grimes (two-way guard)
    john collins (lob threat, scoring)
    dean wade (two-way forward)
keon ellis (three and D POA)
mitchell robinson (lob threat rim protector)
mamu (shooting big forward--cheaper rui replacement)
    spencer jones (two-way forward)
    kuminga (upside athlete, play finisher)
    oubre (athletic forward)
    sexton (ballhandling bench scorer)
zaire williams (upside athlete, djj attempt)

52 million + the room exception could, in theory net up to 4 of these guys in various combinations.

question is how many go off the board while we chase the RFAs.

It was so obvious to me Lebron was not happy in La last season. That's why I was saying While Lebron is great he has been a distraction as of late. It's the best move. Turn LUka Austin loose and let what happens happen. Was not going to win with these 3 together anyway.

It is and I suspect they're okay with that. I don't think they're going all-in to contend in 2026-2027. I think this summer is about re-setting and establishing the new core that will be competing over the next few years. I expect to come out of this summer with a couple of long-term starters next to Luka and Austin, but knowing full well that we need to make more moves before we're ready to win a championship.
