i just find it crazy that it's being openly reported that smart is gone to houston and not a single person reporting this stuff bothered to look at houston's cap sheet.

sort of like when they claimed duren was going to be traded for brown whilst totally ignoring the BYC issues. do your job, people.

why would eason take a low number? i don't care if he had a shooting slump, that's a 20m per player, minimum, and i expected something more like 25. this is a starting caliber, two-way wing.



if smart's taking the tpmle? why opt out? it's only 700k. he'd start here. in la (which isn't houston!)!

the rockets have 184m committed, and the first apron is 209. if smart signs for anything over 6, they have less than 19 million to pay eason. it should take at least 10 to get smart, so you have less than 16 to offer eason (also cap holds for empty roster spots in there). i don't think anyone is eating DFS early in FA unless you're paying a 1st. are you doing that?

it just doesn't add to up to me. if they sign smart, i'm signing eason, right away. would be a huge get for us. starts between luka and reaves, takes toughest wing assignment every night. we'd still have 25m+ to round out the roster, plus all of our picks and trade ballast.
