Yeah from that perspective, Rob is a killer. He managed to kick Magic out and remain longer than Bron. Dude's savage.

I was expecting too. But as someone said, may be some teams took by surprise with Philly being the choice.
I'm expecting notable free agents to get signed every day until the end of the month

I think it was always unreasonable to get 3 starting caliber players, especially when one of them is a premium center that is 10x better than Ayton.
It's great if we can get one, but if not there's still opportunities at the deadline or next summer with the MLE.

Still hope to get a placeholder like Kuzma/Hunter, wtv. We need reps with all the other guys in their roles, so we can plug in a starting 4 later and nothing else changes for the other guys.

It was pointed in a pod that this kind of roster overhaul is very uncommon. We'll have 7 or 8 of the top10 players being new guys. That's unprecedented. It will take time to gel and develop chemistry.
This is a year for that. And the better we are, the better the growth so it's important to be a 50-ish winning team and win a playoff series, so we can go from there in upcoming years

three was, two wasn't, imo. again, if grimes pans out/exceeds expectations, then ok, but i also didn't anticipate choosing among like, jake, vando, and a vet min for the fifth starter. that's what happens when you have four awesome starters. we have three.

This, we currently have added one. I appreciate that Rob added a lot of depth when that has been a major issue for us, but at the same time I feel like you have to at least have a couple of the top end talent guys locked down before working so much on the bench. But we still have expiring guys, 2 seconds and a swap to offer, and we’re still a roster spot over the max, so hopefully he isn’t done, and we still can add at least someone close to starting caliber.

    I take that but

    1) I think Grimes is better than DJJ, Oubre, PJ and other wings people like and consider "starting level". I think we are really sleeping on Grimes, he fits seamlessly with Luka. I expect the narrative about him to be quite different in some months

    2) I think there's value in getting 2 high-level bench players on Sexton and Mamu. We are 29th on bench production. I think Sexton is another guy that really fits what we need with his shooting, rim pressure and quickness on defense. Then Mamu is a GREAT fit against OKC/Denver/Houston and even potentially Spurs with his ability to play the 4 and 5. He should have a Naz Reid kind of impact in the sense of being a guy that you can mix and match depending on the matchup. You add to that 2 great wing defensive specialists, which we also lacked.

Then, we didn't just got a starting center. Ayton was a starting center. Kessler is an All-Defensive team candidate type of center. That's a hell of a win. Should count as 2 starting guys imo, because it's a building block and ALL your moves for the next 3-5 years are for wings. That is being so underrated.

We also need to account Carr. He could easily been traded for a starting guy. I'm glad we didn't

    So:
A building block high level starting center
    A starting wing
    2 high level bench players
    A promising 2-way guard

That's very positive, in my view. And IT'S STILL NOT OVER. We solved: 3rd building block, bench production, wing defense specialists, athleticism, rim protection, rebounding, age, even wing size. That's a lot of problems addressed.

If we get Kuzma, he's kind of Ayton. Kessler brings Bron level value to this team. Grimes is similar to Smart. Bench is way better. Deeper. More defensive. More 2-way. More athletic.

    I like it
