mcmenamin saying we're only offering vet min to kuminga, and i don't believe that at all:

we might be making that pitch to ziaire williams, but not kuminga.

edit: it might be the aggregator that messed it up, though. mcmenamin says "over the vet min" but then the piece goes on to compare to monk (who was a vet min) and then imply a 20 million dollar paycut, which implies vet min.

Well it's looking like he won't be a Laker unless he comes down off his price tag. I could be wrong because I thought Walker Kesler was not going to be a Laker either. I did not see Lakers going that far to get him when they had 8mil Ayton. I quess they hated Ayton that bad.

And that's fine. Bare in mind, we have a whole other transaction cycle through the trade deadline.

I think this roster is talented enough to be top 7ish or so, and if you have to make more changes, you can do it then.

Not a big deal, unless you're going into the PO's like this, and then I'm concerned.

As far as Looney? I think he might be cooked, but I think we'll run more small ball either way. Just hope Kessler can stay healthy.

Ayton was a starter last year and still complaining about the "Capela role" from time to time.

The chances of him being unhappy and a malcontent on the bench in a backup role? Probably likely.

ESPN reaching new levels of buffoonery. I found the article on ESPN with this exact excerpt attributed to Mcmenamin and I think he's actually suggesting they're selling opportunity over the vet min, meaning take the min because the opportunity is so great. We read the report yesterday that our starting offer was 2 years $20M, so 0% chance we're offering the minimum.

Their product is a combination of sheer laziness and clickbait.

I would do that trade just by virtue of dumping the Vando contract, which is one year longer than Green's.

I know some would say, great we get another combo guard. But Green is more of a 2-3, who is strong and athletic. He could play the 4 in a modern line up. He is also a former Luka team mate. He's a good wing defender, juts not poa but that's fine, we would just need him to be a wing defender. Definitely an upgrade.

Zeckarsky helps provide duplication at center in the event that Kessler gets injured. He offers rim protection and a huge catch radius for lobs. It may sound like we have too many bigs, but Mamu is at the 4. Zeckarsky could split time in the desert with Manon, we cold have Manon up here half the time and call up Zeclarsky when he's needed.

This works with or without Kuminga.

agree with most except green can't play the 4. he's not even really big for a 2, tbh.

i'm not sure why minny would do the trade, though. they'd have to believe knecht could pop there for it to make sense, imo. though i suppose if edwards really wanted vando there...

Yeah, you are right about Green not being a 4. He's fine as a 2/3 though. 6-10 wing span is larger than Grimes, who is 6-8 I think. I woukd do the trade.

Dump Vando, Knecht. Green is a much more useful player. Not sure if he woukd even be in the rotation, but the coach has talked about needing depth from 10-15.

If Kessler plays 60 games, we currently don't have anyone to replace his rim protection and sheer size for thsie other 22 games. Zecarsky could slot in as the starter in those games, and keep the rotation some what intact.
