HOWEVA...he's UFA now, not RFA. if he tells atlanta he'll accept a s&t ONLY to us, else he'll sign for what we can clear, it's game over.

There was some tweet about how the Clippers could afford to give Watson a bigger offer if they front-loaded the John Collins contract. So I wonder if this is Detroit clearing the cap to have room for a larger year one cap hit for Collins (assuming Clippers would have to throw them incentive to do so)
