Really? It’s completely on brand for him. Agree with Keith here. Would have loved to have added Collins as a true PF, man.

Stop with the I feel bad for Luka. All of these signings trades are Luka. Luka told Rob I need a lob Center I need shooters.

    We got Kessler and Grimes.

the Lakers are really banking on Carr and that’s why they traded up for him.

Very OKC looking team. Athletic Brothas Adou Thiero Carr.

elite rim protector like Holmgren better Kessler.

    and An MVP scorer Luka/Shai

and a good scoring number 2 Reaves Jalen Williams.

And guess what they all like each other. No agendas. So I’m thrilled.

We get Younger!!!!!!!!!! I wanted Kaminga but I’ll settle for this.

I’m not gonna act like I know about Manu because I don’t. Please tell me. I’ll leave that up to yall.

and I like sticking it to Utah because they really liked him and this one of Ainges favorite players. Arguebally his favorite player. And we took him from him. He wanted us. Kessler wanted the Lakers.

We got the best center on the market. Yeah I said it.

We gotta bank on the development of Carr and Thiero our new Bridges and OG.

in a conference with Wemby and Holmgren you have to do this.

We don't have assets left and the new roster is not good enough; this is exactly what I feared.

sorry to be a downer, but this has gone worse than I thought

It’s gone worse than I thought as well, and my expectations were LOW. Rob continues to surprise me in bad ways.

I suppose the plan is to try and outscore everyone.

Gotta be honest that I'd rather have Smart than several of these guys even with his age and injury history.

I'd rather have Smart + Kennard for $13 million combined than Grimes.

Grimes never made more than $8 mill/year, was on the bench last year and played pretty bad and we gave him $80 million/4 what the hell

A lot of negative nancies around here, you don't swing the bat you just stand there looking stupid. Develop young dudes along with the signings and we got a shot!!

Very underwhelming deals. Not the players itself, I think they're good players and additions. But they were all overpaid and we failed to provide enough wing defense.

I don't like sending all picks to Utah and not sending a single player back to help our flexibility.
Mamu is getting the best contract of his life and he gets a PO why?
Grimes also gets his best contract and again, why the PO?
Sexton is a nice backup guard, value isn't outstanding but shouldn't we target another wing? Is he better than Smart?

Just feel we aren't maximizing value from any of these contracts. Then with the PO it makes them much harder to move them. They are all good players, but... meh

Starting Mamu and Grimes at the 3 and 4 is not outstanding.

Sexton, Ayton and Jake are our core bench. Then Carr and Thiero as upside youngsters. Bronny, Vando and Knecht as end of the bench + 2 vet mins.

Also weird Hayes is likely gone. He felt like another guy who we were maximizing value as he fit seamlessly with Luka.

I give a C- to this offseason at best.

Maybe there's a defensive wing out there on a contract a team wants to get rid of that we can package Vando and crew for.

I think everyone is underestimating how hard happy players play.

    Well paid players are happy

Our team will be very happy

Good point. I would’ve been down with everything if they bought Rui back instead of giving his money to Grimes or Manu. What sense does that make???

Rui would’ve been perfect next to Kessler.

I am pretty bummed with this man, Grimes was on the bench all year for a way worse team than we were, and we're expecting him to step up as a starter, and gave him $80m.

Sandro also looks like a huge overpay and a long contract.

It may take years to recover from this off-season, if these guys don't pan out.

Signing both Sexton and Grimes is dumb. I get one of them but you gotta get a wing. Better hope Adou is ready. Zero dawgs defensively. Go look at OKC/SA/NYK

    I can live with Sandro.

He's a very versatile PF. If you look at what John Collins got paid and what Rui will get paid, Sandro is worth it. With the salary cap going up, he's going to be good value.

Grimes was an overpay to me. I don't think there was a market for him at $15 million. I'd much rather the Lakers have gone after Keon Ellis + Smart with that money. Grimes did play with Luka before so maybe that played a role.

But man, Ellis + Smart would solve the defensive woes in the perimeter. Now Lakers are going to have to rely on non-existent defense outside of Walker. Maybe Thiero and Carr can step up.

come on, we've been waiting for years for this off-season, as they told us (and Luka) that it was all about this year's free agency with the cap space, and all that Rob can muster so far is overpaying a bunch of bench dudes, and trading all our assets left for Kessler.

obviously anyone that cares about winning will be disappointed.

Another big plus with these signings is it gives JJ an opportunity to coach. All good stuff.
