still a ton yet to happen. denver and cleveland haven't made moves they need to make. boston has a huge trade exception. so many dominoes to fall.

if you had told me a month ago that smart would be able to come back on his non-bird, i might have switched to team "bring 'em back", but i'm also wondering if lebron was never going to come back, even for the 20-25m we wanted. and with players all wanting multiple years, we didn't want to potentially be stuck with a roster that couldn't get over the hump and had no growth potential (lebron, rui, kennard, and smart are who they are, and all likely project downward).

we'll see if we had a better plan than "hope someone doesn't match on an RFA". if that was it, rob will be fired the next day, imo.

Full MLE on Landale is crazy. Pretty telling they rather use it on him than Kuminga. Maybe the kid is really a difficult character. Tough sell in a brand new team without established leaders and culture yet

I can see that. I believe that's what the Warriors did with Kwame back in the day, one of the first times I remember seeing that done. Signed specifically as a tradable deal.

 

I miss when we saw a flurry of free agent signings right when free agency opened instead of now where it seems teams/players hold off in announcing their agreements just to make it appear like they didn't tamper.
