Lebron avg 20 ppg Rui can easily avg 15ppg and bump up from somewhere else. What lakers need is a scorer off the bench.

 

You took the words out my mouth. This is the only draw back. Any injury to Luka Austin won't have the luxury they had last season. A playmaker and scorer off the bench imo is a must.

 

We see this as an opportunity to get more young and athletic. Feels like 2004 when Kobe got his new contract and we traded Shaq for Caron Butler Lamar Odom and Brian Grant. And Chutkey Atkins.

it just does. This is Luka’s team and Austin’s. The guys are gonna play more free. Ayton sproduction probably goes up to 15 to 18 points a game.

Locker room is different and we embrace more of a OKC culture. Don’t get it twisted. It’s gonna suck replacing that 25 points a game.

Boy would I love to shove it up Golden State and see Jonathan Kaminga become the 3-D here on the Lakers.

 

Duren seems to be more capable of creating his own scoring opportunities, but I don’t agree with the notion that he’s somehow a significantly more productive scorer than Kessler.

Duren the prior year with lower usage and averaging 7 FGA: 12 points, 10 boards, 1 block

Kessler the prior year with similar usage of 7 FGA: 11 points, 12 rebounds, 2.4 blocks

I think Kessler playing alongside Luka and AR would be a 18-20 ppg scorer. If that small sample of 3 point shooting this season is real, he may even provide more scoring versatility than Duren

If so players not as big a thing, but we need to get like 3 2nd picks and a 1st

Johnathan and his agent are being humbled. GSW and Hawks not paying big bucks. Will have to accept non superstar type money. Not everyone is into overpaying.

But 1 I don't see LeBron wanting to help Lakers as it would look bad they won without him and 2 he won't want to gut his new team. Because of his age i dont see teams handing over picks. Maybe a very late 1st and a pair of seconds

It depends. Dramond in a bench role and get some younger pieces? I agree would be better off going east but I think he will be in GSW close to home and the fact that Green opt out. GSW is my guess

Unfortunately we’re losing a top 15 player that I thought we would be getting for 20-25m in LeBron.

He should go to the warriors and play with Curry who is another top 15 player and if healthy that team of veterans will be fun and make some noise - Green, Butler, KP, Horford, Podz, Moody, Gui and Yaxel is a good team. Lebron gets to be the main playmaker and the 1B. Good for him and them.

We better pick up 2 of the RFA’s available now. I don’t know how else to salvage our season. Otherwise we’ll just be trying to recreate some goofy 2024 Luka Dallas lineup.

 

GSW would be injury prone but dangerous is healthy in the playoffs

 

I don’t think they’ll be dangerous we’ve seen putting a bunch of old stars doesn’t work. OKC and San Antonio will mop the floor with them.

 

Getting younger and getting more explosive. He’s 42. It’s a young man’s league. At some point the Lakers were going to have to get out of this and Lebron.

 

I hope this isn’t our 2004 moment. We wasted the next 3 years of one of the highest absolute peaks in NBA history on a team that couldn’t make the playoffs. We had a durable 35 per night scorer that was all nba defense and should have won another 1-2 MVPs and rings over that time.
