And around 40mil in cap space and all the picks.

Mamu and Grimes getting tracking. I like those moves if neither is much over 10mil

I like the Zion/Turner idea if we don't get Duren

we need a serious scoring punch without Lebron, Kessler is not going to cut it.

gotta say it's not a great look that we worked hard to get the flexibility to be in this conversation and then got outmaneuvered by the capped out sacramento kings.

btw, for those saying the reaves contract was a mistake, our top FA target is about to get traded for another team's reaves (good player that people don't think is worth a max).

Btw, we need to go back to earth and understand that if there's an expectation to get a team that is better than OKC or Spurs is unreasonable.

I think a reasonable expectation is getting 2 pieces this year that can be part of the core rotation (6/7 men) moving forward. Along with Carr and Thiero developing + a couple more market windows where we can do further moves and get a championship-level roster.

Something I'll be looking at is us signing guys that may be more stop gaps and trade fodder later on.
Again, Kuminga fits this mold where he can either develop to someone we need or at least keep the upside potential that can be traded at some point

I think once the dust settles, the read will be that Rob seriously mishandled the Lebron situation and that's going to be a fireable offense. Seems Lebron left us out of spite and is going to take a pay cut, because he felt slighted by the front office.

Since Cleveland’s season ended in a Game 4 loss to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals, sources say the team has had discussions about the possibility of trading Max Strus and Dennis Schroder. Strus is set to make $16.6 million in the final year of his contract. Schroder is still owed nearly $31 million over the next two seasons. Those moves would help Cleveland’s salary cap situation. If the Cavs get below the punitive aprons, they could also theoretically orchestrate a sign-and-trade for James.

    Cleveland Plain Dealer

    Get Allen for James

oh it's embarrassing if we strike out of Duren. Sacramento is one of the worst franchises in the league.

I think he doesn’t go there if Allen isn’t there

I find it weird you're taking these rumours (Sabonis/Duren or Smart) as hard facts man. I know you know better.

Yesterday Rob Williams was out of Portland per all reporters and was going to get MLE offers around the league. Today he re-signed for 3 years below MLE lol

It's all posturing by teams and agents pushing whatever narrative helps them or media guys trying to keep their job and clicks

This team is really low on talent now - if you can make a move for Zion I would do it. Need someone with talent who has been in the wrong situation.
not the greatest fit but you need to just get more talent on the roster asap

i thought strus was pretty good for them in the playoffs. better defensively than i expected (though his career numbers say that's not a fluke). not a great fit here unless we lost kennard. 16m in salary is a lot to eat into the space, too.

so the aspiration stuff is officially dead, eh? hopefully walter and co remember so they can take part in some legendary tampering in the future

a lot of picks to give up, but toronto's talented enough where they'll likely be late rounders. plus, ingram's not a winning player and d*** is pretty bad. not as good of a haul for the clips as it seems

    Why Kennard? They're very different.

Strus here would play the Smart role. Start at the 3 and some backup 2. We'd probably need a backup PG though. Tyus Jones is an FA, I think if we lose Smart and Kennard he may be an option

OH YEAH.......that was discussed. MAN, that would be rad. Add Bronny to that and anything else to get more than Allen and we might have a solid team next year. Not great, but good enough. Again, as long as we can be anywhere between 4th and 7th or 5th and 7th, we should have some chance to pushing some teams harder than they think. We'll see.

I can't imagine we are instantly a 10th seed or lower. Luka and Reaves can give us something to be a little higher than that.

    And?

.....................................if people want to go somewhere, they will do whatever they can............

I guess I don't see the embarrassment if it's what Duran wanted in the first place. Again, just because the Lakers doesn't mean when someone calls they are going to fall out of their seats and say yes. If so, Kobe would have had more rings.

Trust us............things go as they go for who wants what. This is what happens when you are part of a fandom of a team like that. You realize that your name is used for more money, not always for the ring and nostalgia.

Yeah for a while I just assumed he could because he played for Thibs in New York and wouldn't be on the court if he couldn't, but I've seen probably the same stats you have that indicate he's fallen off.
