    I'm curious about that also

Wondering if it's a large or small move and it creates more breathing room for Rob

Why would we even trade that much for a buyout candidate like Wiggins lol

If Dalton AND the 1st were on the table for Wiggins that deal would be done. It’s no secret the Heat want to clear cap space. If they could do that while getting Dalton’s scoring ability and a future 1st, it’s unlikely they could do better for Wiggins.

There is rumors that Whitmore to Lakers in Durant trade
Whitmore would join Green and Brooks to be the pieces Houston would send out; however, he would not join them in Phoenix. Instead, he would either be sent to the Lakers in exchange for Finney-Smith or the Hawks for Capela

Yes. But only after the draft. Because we have to draft in 2026. But we can have a deal in place with X team, draft whoever that team wants and then trade it with the 31 and the 33 that opens up next year.

I mentioned that here before and totally makes sense to me to hold it, especially in a year where apparently we want to retool the whole roster
Saw that too, based on DFS S&T. But I thought S&T couldn't be included in multi-team trades, so I dunno.
Clearly makes no sense what was reported, like abeer said before, if it's just the picks

You look at the ESPN net point metrics and he's been bad the last two years not just with the Heat. He was really good the title year and the year after.

Not sure if he's been hurt or he went into another one of those mental funks but his career has nosedived after it was looking to turnaround

    Extremely weird career arc

this and the story that they can't be packaged are both false, i think, but they live on just because it's not common.

yeah, i tried to say this when these rumors first popped up. he's had like, two good years in his career, really. and they haven't been recent. the heat have been trying to dump him, and the idea that we'd move assets for him is silly, imo.

Whitmore skillset fits with Luka. .
He couldn't break into Houston lineup but then again Houston had a like a million talented guys ahead of him in the rotation based on draft status and contracts.

I jinxed the Lakers the last time I said I really liked Pelinkas moves (Dennis, gasol off season). But if I'm being honest I'd love an Ayton, Melton, whitmore Laravia off-season.
Now watch them get neither Melton and whitmore lol

    Thank you!
I’m done with washed up, one dimensional players. Give me hungry, young guys, who can play or learn to play defense, who also contain room to improve.
My only exception would be discarded bigs who can still play great defense- you know, the opposite of Ayton.

from what i've seen reported, whitmore isn't part of that 7 team trade, and our only part is getting thiero. i'm just not sure why we needed to participate.

You make a good case for Beal. But, is he really going to change his game at this stage? He didn't figure it out next to Durant and Book. I have no confidence he would next to Luka and LeBron. Then you have the issue of who is the third option and who goes to the bench, Beal or AR. That third option role is already nailed down by AR and he is better at it than Beal. AR is a more creative scorer AND a much better distributer. Plus AR actually tries on defense. And that's the big rub for me. We don't need more offense. We need more D. Beal can't provide that for us.

I do have serious concerns regarding our defense.
We lost our best defender in DFS, who was instrumental in turning around our terrible effort on that end when he came in.
Then, we brought in a big with serious effort issues who has never been labeled even a “good defender.”
LeDrama, Luka, Rui, and Austin can be decent on that end, but can never be relied on to be defensive stoppers.
Hayes is downright one of the worst defensive bigs we’ve had in the past twenty seasons and Dalton is pretty clueless there.
I watched a breakdown of LaRavia via Trevor Lane and it looks like he can become a better defender than advertised.
We all have seen what Goodwin and Gabe can do, but the latter seems destined for a trade.
Rob needs to probably trade everyone not named LeDrama, Luka, Reaves, LaRavia, and Goodwin at sometime in the season in order to significantly improve this team’s chances of becoming a top ten rated defensive squad.

We need Melton with that BAE if he can play now, or at least to take that gamble with him after our medical DD clears him to start at the PG slot and move AR to the 2 spot for defense waaay MOAR than Beal for his offense. We have scoring up the you know “what” already.

I’d love to conclude the offseason by getting Melton and Whitmore as well. The nice thing is we are in a great position since we got Ayton for peanuts. We have all our assets and a good team now. There are spots we could improve by trading expirings or picks but there’s no rush.

Exactly. While it would be great to make another move or 2 during the offseason, we're not in bad shape if this is it. I think there will be a lot of sellers as we approach the trade deadline this season and could have a handful of expirings, Dalton, 2031 1st, and multiple swaps to play with.
