Yep. Also, the Austin would go to Milwaukee no problem crowd still hasn't addressed the leverage issue. Austin has other options and only risks losing $0-10 M, and has already said he will accept less. Rob risks Austin walking for nothing. How are you gonna replace a player of Austin's level or better, for a $21 M cap hold?

A little over the top for me to picture Austin doing that, less so with his agent maybe .... BUT after the never-to-be-forgotten Caruso screw up this isn't happening in a vacuum.

He said he would accept less from us. Not from anyone.

The Austin wouldn't go to Milwaukee people haven't addressed why they think teams like Chicago or Brooklyn would offer him a big contract at all. Why would any bad/tanking team pay a 27 year old scoring guard $30 million a year. He'll be 30 by the time you're ready to be a playoff team. He might actively cost you better lottery position. If I was a fan of the Bulls or the Nets, I wouldn't want to sign Austin. Doesn't do anything for us. Chicago I guess you could say would love to sign Austin and just be the 9 seed because that's what they typically do, but they just fired their GM presumably because they're going to stop doing this. But Brooklyn, I don't see why they'd offer him a significant contract. The Jazz would want him, but no longer have space to sign him. The Clippers maybe, I don't know what their cap space situation is exactly, but they just traded for Garland and they have their eye on bigger targets to replace Kawhi over the next few years. I don't think they're trying to lock in a Garland/Austin backcourt.

There aren't many teams with cap space and the ones that do have it are bad teams that are really in no position to be paying Austin right now. If they act rationally.
