Yes but it’s common for those “intends to sign after clearing waivers” announcements to get reported before they’ve cleared waivers and it’s understood to pretty much be official.

Already happened with the reports of Clarkson signing with NY after he clears waivers

So I don’t think the waiver timeline is necessarily a reason we haven’t heard anything. Could be Ayton still taking his time to weigh options, could be Rob actually cooking something else, who knows

It would make sense for Rob to go back to the Jazz or Nets if he likes Kessler/Claxton better than Ayton and say either lower your price or we're going with Ayton. I think we'll hear something definitive by the end of the day.

I like the Yabusele addition for the Knicks. He'll fit in well there. The motor out there with lineups featuring Hart and Yabusele will really irritate teams.

Re the Bucks, Pacers, Antetokounmpo and Dame:
- feel for Pacers fans. They had a championship within their grasps and in under two weeks it all goes up in smoke.

- Bucks are like the guy on Supermarket Sweep who's losing and there's only 60 seconds left on the clock. Props for the activity and creative way to try something. But they gave up Holiday, a first, 2 swaps, and Dame only to essentially pay Turner over $40m a year. I think this is what pushes Antetokounmpo out. Sure, he might like the prospect of playing with Turner but paying anyone over $20m a year to go away and you're really limiting your roster building options.

- Dame will finally get his wish. He gets out of the city that made him depressed. Can either go back to Portland and finally go to South Beach when he's healthy. Riley doesn't get to claim that as a win though.

 

He (Ayton) can't be signed before tomorrow .
