The Bucks aren’t even serious about trading him. That has been stated over and over again. Reports are now coming out that they never had any intentions of trading him at all. It will be the same dance this summer.

This Giannis chase looks really quixotic - Greek Freak is a Freak with his intentions and isn't decisive. I think the Lakers do make sense for Giannis but other teams make just as much sense and have better trade packages likely then the Lakers (houston, cavs, OKC, etc whoever doesn't win the title)

Unless the lakers are trading AR there is 0 chance for Giannis

Our chances at Giannis are entirely predicated on him saying he wants to play here and only here and that he won't sign an extension anywhere else. Given how reluctant he's seemed to go full nuclear on this so far, I think it's incredibly unlikely he gets to that place in the summer.

I wouldn't mind getting him for Kleber or a buy out. I worry about Ayton/Hayes in the playoffs, they tend to get played off the floor sometimes. Having a different big body can be important in certain matchups like Denver, Rockets or Minny. Even OKC has a big team with Hartenstein. He may give us good 15-18 minutes in a playoff game just for his phisicality and size

Alvarado in NY. With Dalen Terry it's 2 solid moves by the Knicks. Nothing exuberant but adding depth. Kolek has been playing nice, but Alvarado may swing a game

Yeah we aren’t getting giannis, it’s silly. We’ll have 3 picks on draft night only, and no players Milwaukee wants unless we’re giving them Reaves in a S&T. If all we do today, which seems likely, is trading for Kennard, it’s a wasted season and a bad deadline. West looks more and more open with injuries lately, Luka is playing like an MVP, LeBron has been better than expected, Reaves is back, I go for it now and get the best wing I can. The West only gets tougher from here on, SA is on the rise for example, can’t throw seasons in the trash thinking you’ll have stars later you may not, we have 3 right now. At the very least if we aren’t gonna compete try to get some assets for expirings, recoup some 2nd rounders.

What’s the deal with all these player flips? Traded and then traded again. Feel like that’s rarely happened until this season where it’s a normal occurrence.

Alvarado is a sneaky good pickup for the Knicks. They’ve got some gritty dudes in the backcourt.

Im with you some hope in the buyout market (hopefully Rob is on the phone with DeMars and Thybulle agents) but that also means you need to make some moves to get roster spots

Where do you see this team finishing this year?

I think we still make a move today

I'd trade a first for the beam lol what a great idea from a trash franchise. Take the Beam from the Queens - Shaq would say

It depends if we make any moves still. As is I think we’re a play-in team, probably 7 or 8, same as I thought before the season started because our bench is awful and we have few starting lineups that make sense. If we make a move for a wing today, or are able to clear space and sign someone decent off a buyout maybe we move anywhere from the 4-6 spot depending who.

Maybe the Pels will let go of Herb Jones now after the Alvarado trade

I'm a little gun shy too on Giannis

He HAS had his best statistical year from 3 by a long shot, and it has been his most effective year as far as eFG%

If he stays healthy, he's far from done. Feels weird to have a star max player playing under 30 minutes a game.

I'm sure I'm coming in hot here for a first post, but personally I'm not sure that going after Giannis is a particularly wise idea for the Lakers. Love him and he's absolutely one of the top five players in the league right now, but I'm not convinced that he'd be a good fit alongside Luka and I fear that we'd risk tanking Luka's tenure as the face of the Lakers with what could potentially be a repeat of the Westbrook trade in gutting both our ability to have depth and our already small proverbial war chest to make roster changes.

How long do you think we go in the playoffs if we do nothing else?
