Yes he does but if he says indefensible stuff like that I don’t see how he has any credibility. Around here it’s just OX being OX. Impossible to take seriously as there’s nothing to back up some of these weird takes other than “because I say so”. Max is doing great his 4th year in the league and is a better defender, certainly POA, than anyone we have on the team now, except Marcus Smart. When he’s healthy. May be quicker laterally? And 46% from deep to go with that plus 12 points a game “blows”?

To be fair, Goodwin and Smart are kind of equal pieces and I’m happy we have Smart. Nick Smith is an interesting piece to in that he may be a microwave scorer off the bench - so I’m not to bummed out.

Caruso is an all time head scratcher.

KCP would look good on this team. Smart for 24 minutes rotating with KCP for the other 24 would help a lot with the rotation. He's not what he once was but like Marcus his skill set is what the Lakers are missing and I think like Boston did you can load manage these guys if you have enough of them so that they stay fresh and don't play old

I think only NSJ has that combo of being able to hit C&S threes plus the pullup mid range Byron Scott game amoung the roleplayers. This team needs more shooting and POA defense and KCP looks pretty competent out there. Still need another wing defender but a KCP/Smart combo gets you solid playoff level roleplayer combo for one the guard spots at least

Well I think this whole board hated giving him up. From a team and FO perspective, didn't help JJ didn't play him in the playoffs last year (cough cough don't do the same with Thiero and again that was something that the FO may have taken a look at it - most people including myself thought this was stupid - not Caruso level dumb but not a good move)

really frustrating to watch sac lose while dnp-cding or playing low minutes with ellis, monk, and carter while we're pretty desperate for competent guard play.

i feel like there are probably 5 or 6 mutually beneficial trades to be had with various combinations between the two teams, and i'm guessing they just won't work with us because they care more about us not benefiting than them also benefiting.

Yeah having Goodwin right now would be really helpful. The FO didn't want to do a consolidation trade over the summer that would have allowed us to keep Goodwin, but that looks like it may have been a mistake now.

Yeah. I liked signing Smart and still do but wish we had found a way to keep Goodwin.

    Oh well.

Some teams just continue to make the mistake of not dealing with us.

Always, but I expect it. Time to look at Philly & Brooklyn to see what we can do. Sean & Daryl get along with Rob. There's also Orlando & Washington (they've changed GM's), but maybe there's some possibilities with those teams and players...

Goodwin was on a 2-way last year and was able to help us out and win some games with his play. We have another one in the wings this year that looks like he could do the same if needed later in the year in Chris Manon. The guy looks really promising for same kind of role, and also is on a 2-way. Blame Redick if he's not given the chance to help, Jordan sure got hot last night from deep but career is 32-33%

    AI Overview
Jordan Goodwin has an official "in socks" (without shoes) height of
    6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m), while Chris Manon's official "in socks" height is 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m).

    Goodwin 215lbs Wingspan not listed
Manon 209lbs Wingspan 6'9" plus is a high flyer

I think you got something there with Manon. Develop him, too.

Ziaire Williams - long athletic wing from Brooklyn.
Oubre - Pretty much know what he is now in the NBA w/Philly now.
Justin Champagnie - Washington swing man I like...
Jett Howard - Orlando swing man; think they declined his option. Probably a scrub.
    Dalen Terry - Bulls.

These are all pretty much margin moves if that. Don't think we're sending out a first this year for anybody, IMO.

Yeah. The fortunate thing for us is that just adding some athleticism will help a lot even if the player doesn’t blow us away.

I’d also like to see Kobe Bufkin get a shot before we lose him to another team.
