almost certainly. NO could take it if they want it, but they're going to gamble on us giving them a better pick in a better draft next year. now, to be clear, they're fumbling either pick. but next year's will likely be better.
the one thing that might work against them is that we won't be actively tanking--because we won't have our pick. for example, bkn had a nightmare season (like we could have next year if we have bad luck health-wise), but they still finished with a better record than 7 or 8 teams because they didn't own their pick and thus never tanked nor made trades a tanker would make. we'll probably be in the same boat.
yes I still don’t want the Pelicans to have the delusional satisfaction that they fleeced us even though they f***ed up all picks coming from us
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba...ited-lakers-pelicans/ee238cbc396d99b61d60b023 this article is clearly biased and sort of sets the bar of laker success in the trade was "winning five championships with AD winning five mvps" while suggesting the pelicans' pure water treading as some sort of quantum leap forward. they claim the pels were going nowhere with AD and clearly going somewhere now. disagree. as for what they've done in the draft: Here is a list of the players that the Pelicans drafted or traded for with those Lakers picks: Jaxson Hayes Nickeil Alexander-Walker Didi Louzada Herb Jones Dyson Daniels they're again playing loose and with an agenda here, and as it gets further out, it's really hard to determine what counts for what (e.g., hart, naw, and some picks that weren't ours went out for mccollum). from where i stand, we went from the lotto to a title and then had another conference finals appearance. they went from a low end playoff team/high lotto team to...a low-end playoff team/high lotto team. the irony relevant to the thread is that most valuable pick to them ended up being a late first (herb jones) as opposed to the lotto picks (hayes, naw, daniels).
^^^ ….. finally we can pay back @SentientMeat for his “really” annoying year here. I just heard a woman screaming and then 4 “really” loud gun shots at Stephen Noh’s address, officer!! Too much? Don’t care. …. and we can blame sirron for it if it goes south.
Damn .... so what .... 6'3" or 6'3 1/2" with shoes? He's really short for a SG, even with the athleticism and body strength, plus not close to being a great shooter yet.
