DaSilva is a much better shooter than Kuz though. At least if we pick him, he could be a decent defensive match-up with the small forward on Denver (forgot his name).

The Blazers drafting Edey makes no sense - they got Ayton AND Robert Williams already.

What a r******* move that would be!

But hey, if Robert Williams becomes available...I'm all ears and would gladly trade for him

i think they hate ayton and would move him for like, anything, lol.

i'm curious about whether ayton is ready to turn over a new leaf were he sent to a contender. it seems like probably not, though. i think he'd rather be traded to washington and be the center version of jordan poole.

    i don't think he'll ever stay healthy.

The discussion about moving the pick for a vet (Murray, Grant) is ongoing in the team development thread but this is also in the piece...

If we do like Holmes ,a lot of mocks have him more in that Knicks range so maybe that's reason enough to trade down.

Damn I’ve been hoping if we use the pick Edey might fall to us, guess not. I’m not super high on De Silva, he was great in the tournament, but I don’t know how athletic he is. But, it’s the 17th pick, if he’s the most talented available, that’s the risk I guess.

think i posted a couple days ago a list of guys i thought were going to slip to late 1st/2nd round that i'd want to trade down for. like last year, if my main targets are gone, i'm good just getting out/down.

last year, i wanted wallace or lively, but neither slipped. i liked podziemski as a move down guy, too. never imagined whitmore would slip that far, and i wasn't enamored with jacquez (probably a mistake in judgment there).

this year, my slip down targets are carter (nope), holland (probably not), and topic (but have to be patient).

where's collier being mocked now? i admit i worry about his game translating, but a couple draftniks i respect think he's great. could we trade down and still get him?

Just from the two I posted yesterday:
    24 ESPN
    23 HoopsHype

But I've seen him in that 15-25 range in recent weeks.

    oh great, another sheep

We need a free thinker dangit, not an arse kisser

I'd have more respect if he picked someone other than his father. This doesn't bode well for his success, but for sure I'd say he's no leader.

Yeah, I got all of that from a little clip. Weird right?

It was Porter who I was thinking of. It would be a bit harder for Porter to shoot over the 6-9 DaSilva. I also heard that DaSilva isn't a stiff on defense. He is decent. Lakers will take him if he is still on the board at 17,but he will likely be gone.

A low-key Lakers target at #17 could be Jared McCain. 6-2 205 sharp shooter from Duke. Could also defend. Would compliment Reaves very well. Also Dillingham. Provides shooting, quickness, and athleticism from the PG position. Not as good of a defender as McCain though.

he's mocked near us a lot. i get very worried about pg-sized sgs who aren't very athletic. i watched him a bit late in the season, and he did jump off the screen as just a really talented college player, but i had trouble seeing it translate against the bigger, better athletes at the next level.

yeah, i'd love to hear what the idea is here? all the unprotected picks and swaps and half of our rotation for trae young? that's how you guys want this to play out? just ask for a trade, if that's what you're after.

If you're looking for a trade partner tomorrow

So we couldn't find a trade... again. There's potentially a few guys I like here, but it makes Rob's words at the deadline worthless.

I think there definitely guys in our range developed enough that could give meaningful minutes off the bench for far less money and loss of player assets if all any other team wants to do is get the best of us with the Lakers tax crap. Especially if one of the centers we’re all looking at drops or da Silva. He sounds nice and is “long”.

which words? which deadline trade did we pass on to keep a 1st? we passed on trades to keep reaves, but not a first that i can recall.

we said it would be nice to have three picks to move on draft day, and it would be. 5 just got bridges.

your boy carter's been gone a long time, jsm. i actually think someone might take him top 5 at this point.

agree that missi's a project. that would be a weird pick for us, imo.

holmes, on the other hand, might be ready to play right away.

in any case, being forced to pick at 17 when we clearly didn't want to (again) kinda sucks.
