Yeah. Theoretically, if we were his top choice Klay could have threatened to sign here for the NTPMLE so they'd have to take a DLo sign and trade or nothing. But he didn't take it that far.

I just don't see the value in him. He's a dribble, dribble dribble dribble scorer who can't defend or space the floor. What's he gonna be doing when Lebron or AD have the ball? He doesn't cut or anything..

He's also a huge playoff shrinker. 50% career TS which is barely above Dlo

Derozan is aging like fine wine. Some of you folks are tripping...HARD

At the MLE? Damn..is this bizarro world around here?

We got folks talking about Chokeolo is an asset, that we can't really replace, and Derozan is damn near washed. Lol...WTF?

It’s all Rob’s fault Klay doesn’t want to come and play with a super old LeBron and getting older AD!!!
If this was 2021, Klay would have chosen us, easily.
I can’t blame him for wanting to play with a younger crew, alongside one of the best distributors in the game.

I think it’s the thought that JJ talked about shooters.

It's a very good trade for Lakers. You get a guy miscast as a number 1 or 2 into a 3 roles where he is just way more athletic and skilled then most 3s

If doesn't work out you get the contract to move with a lot of FRPs. So if Lavine sucks get hurts but Mitchell wants out you have the contract and the picks to make it happen

That’s my thought as well. Should be a solid pick with the Bulls looking to rebuild.

I'm on board for the trade for LaVine idea now, but would want Vucevic and Bulls first round pick and a pick swap included.

The way I will think about it is to add picks to the Lakers trade chest for when a real disgruntled superstar wants out of their team, we won’t always be outbidded like how we are now.

It makes sense a year or two down the road as well, which by that time Lavine will be an expiring contract.

We would be able to offer 3 of our picks, the bulls pick, and pick swaps to pair AD with (insert disgruntled name of star 1-2 years from now).

For what it’s worth, Lavine posted a video of himself working out as an injury update a month ago:

lebron knew exactly what he was doing with that "i'll take a paycut for a big name" line

the top 3 options in this FA class were harden (who was never an option,) klay, and valanciunas. and lebron was not taking a paycut for f***ing valanciunas. klay was the only guy he would've done that for

Even if its not the best fit, I'm taking Derozan & Lebron over just Lebron. Its to be seen if he is willing to take a paycut for him or others, clocks ticking Rob.

A bit envious of Dallas’ offseason so far. They replaced THJ and DJJ with better defenders and shooters in Grimes and Naji and then picked up Klay for even more shooting. When you add that to the PJ, Gafford and Lively front court pickups last year - they’re going to be a dangerous team.

    Kyrie - Klay - Luka - PJ - Lively
    Exum - Grimes - Naji - Kleber - Gafford
