    Oh yea of little faith.

You really think, that we are going into the season, with 10 guards and 5 power forwards?

    Man, so impatient we are.
Whatever Rob does or doesn’t do, he’s not going anywhere.
Jeanie likes him, so he’s here as long as she is.
    Get used to it.

Basically saying that, we can have Grant if we really want him.

Ok, so Chris Haynes thinks "right now" that the Mavs are the frontrunner for Klay; just listened to Buha who said, "it is trending in that direction." A rando on Reddit says Rob is still attempting to dump Russell and offer Klay 4/80.

I do believe the Grant stuff from Irwin for some reason. Also, one thing to note: Brooklyn has a $20 million dollar trade exception they created on February 24th, 2024. I think D'Angelo liked Brooklyn, right? I also think the management was fond of him (Sean Marks & company).

If LBJ signs the max, that puts us at 182 million or so; the second apron came in lower by $500K. Christie's first year is listed @ $7.1 million on Spoctrack or whatever it's called, which puts us right at the second apron. Trades are coming...

If that’s the case, and he doesn’t improve this roster in any meaningful way, then Jeanie should sell her majority stake in the team to the group that run the Dodgers. If we can’t keep up with the modern NBA because of money, bring in people who can, you aren’t qualified to run the greatest franchise in NBA history just because your father was, we saw that with Jim, and Jeanie isn’t above that.

I really don’t understand the intent of a comment like this, the point of a message board is discussion and sharing opinions, not blinding pledging allegiance to ownership. Again, IF Rob can’t meaningfully improve this team with LeBron offering to take a pay cut, multiple picks, pick swaps and plenty of tradable salary at his disposal, THEN yes his job should be in question, ANY GM running this team should have that asked about them in such a case, Mitch, Jim, even Jerry West, this is a results based job.

Gut tells me if they don't get Klay or can reach an agreement for Grant, they'll go after LaVine, IMO.

My opinion might change tomorrow, LOL. It's just a gut. I think Rob needs to make a splash and he's trying to land a "name." Guess we'll see soon.

I don’t think Rob will do that, that’s Russ 2.0, at the very least we can say Rob has become cautious of these type of deals since. LaVine is a negative asset, they have to attach firsts to get rid of him, and if he doesn’t work here he’s untradable. We’d also have to trade like half the roster to get him, there’s no way we do that. I can see us talking to Brooklyn or Washington for smaller deals over that.

I think there’s plenty of players to be had who can improve us, Brooklyn has a lot like Cam Johnson and DFS if their asking price isn’t completely insane.

Yeah I don’t mind the negotiating tactic to try to get Grant for a single first round pick. That’s justifiable given his contract.

But at a certain point if the market is dictating that you need to send 2 firsts to acquire a player with that level of impact (and I do think Grant is that good), you might just have to pony up.

The alternative of being so conservatively looking for the best value deal that you end up striking out completely and having to run back the same team as last year, I just don’t see that as an option. And I’m confident Rob knows that.

At the end of the day, I’m optimistic that we do have enough assets and flexibility to substantially improve the team. But it might not be an immediate free agency signing, it might be an out of left field that trade that takes a little time to develop

Clippers lost PG for nothing

    Clippers still and forever clipping.

For the life of me I don’t understand why we even have a thread about them like they’re a rival or a threat. The Clippers fail at every turn and the sun will burn out before they win a championship.
