Kinda like the LeBron domino when he came here, IIRC.

You guys are all nuts if you’re saying no to Klay for the MLE. Even if it’s a sign and trade for DLo at $18 million, it’s still a good deal for a guy that shoots 40% automatically from 3 and has the size to defend bigger wings.

He can be a superstar in his role, it’s a guy that literally does not need the ball and can just hit open 3s and run through screens while defending.

The Lakers aren’t in a position to get anyone better than Klay

we are not getting Klay at the MLE, that's ludicrous. The only option is probably sign and trade for D'Lo which I would take probably.

Yeah I don’t mind the idea of Klay, I could potentially like it a lot, but it boils down to what other moves we’re able to make.

If Lebron took just enough of a paycut to open up the MLE for Klay, but NOT enough to re-sign Christie, and Klay ended up being our biggest offseason acquisition… honestly that would be pretty disastrous IMO

DLO rejoining all his former teams is just too rich.

well if we're getting Klay, then probably Austin is either starting at PG or too much of a luxury to come off the bench in which case he might be traded by an actual PG.

But honestly I don't see anyone in that 2nd tier of PGs that we could get. The guy was Dejounte but he's gone.

Like I said. It's not about what best for the Lebron or the Lakers. It's the principle involved, James vowed that he wasn't taking less than his max again, years ago, he said it wasn't about him, it was about the future players. Don't get me wrong, as a Lakers fan, that would be great.

On the flipside, I said what I said, about it being a business tho..besides Jordan, look at Hakeem and Pat Ewing..both finished their careers in Toronto. These teams don't really give a damn about you, once the bean counters conclude, that you are now a financial liability.

Idk..MAYBE this was the price Lebron was willing to pay all along, in order to get Bronny drafted here, and NOT on a two way contract

well if we trade D'Lo, it will be another year of Bron being the actual Point Guard then.

Like AR didn’t run the offense 40% of the time last year and do it well, and we don’t have Gabe or maybe some other option?

Vincent was the starting PG on a Finals team. I hope he's not going to be injured most of the season, during this upcoming campaign.

I’m not really understand the Klay interest, we beat the Warriors 2 years ago in the playoffs largely because he couldn’t make an open shot, and he can’t defend anymore. It’s to me not that different than adding an old Melo like we did, only Melo came for the minimum. If we did a sign and trade with DLo and Klay I would just laugh, not to me a good use of assets. Harden’s name being thrown out there is also funny, if we signed Harden and Chris Paul I might be out, but we won’t so it’s fine. As for LeBron and a pay cut, haha yeah I’ll believe that when I see it, comes across as some good PR to me, but you never know I guess.

Everyone knew, but it took a few days. Again, could be wrong, but pretty sure once he announced he was coming here a flurry of deals elsewhere occurred.

Yeah, think I’m a no on Klay. Hard to see the way acquiring him helps us, tbh.
