There wouldn't be a NBA without the players. There are plenty of rich people that could buy a team. There aren't many people on Earth, good enough to be a NBA player.

There wouldn't be an NBA without owners and infrastructure. Both are equally important.

Makes you wonder a bit. Is this specifically who LBJ is willing to take less for?

Built on the product, they didn't create the product, they marketed it. They don't need handouts from the players. That's like working unlimited overtime without pay. That happens too, is called a salaried position.

Not subscribed to Stein’s substack, so I don’t know the actual context or quote. But “outbid” is interesting.

If Lebron is going to take enough of a paycut to open up the NTPMLE, that also means we’d open up the ability to acquire player via sign and trade.

So I think in theory we could trade DLo in a sign and trade for Klay to offer him more than the NTPMLE, and then still have the NTPMLE to sign someone else.

Probably unrealistic, but I think if Lebron takes that paycut we could do something like DLo for Klay, Valanciunas for NTPMLE, and then still also have Rui/Gabe/picks to offer in a trade for someone like Grant or similar caliber

How can Dallas pay Paul George straight out? They only saved 12M dumping Hardaway Jr for Grimes.

I would assume that, with the money being equal, Klay would pick the Lakers over the Mavericks.

nothing new from the article I posted (that he linked in the tweet) from yesterday. The tweet is the only new info that includes us.

After thinking about Bron's list of the players/type he'd take a paycut for:

    - Harden f*** outta here. I'd rather let Reddish get 30 touches a night. That inclusion makes me think it's a partial PR move of hey, I was willing. Rob just couldn't do it. Unless the Clipps nuke the roster when/if PG leaves that doesn't make sense.
-Klay I understand but don't like the idea that much since he lost his defense. For the NTPMLE, ok...I guess. He's worth more still and JJ likes shooters. You have to move DLO for a lock down Point guard if that's the decision.
-Jonas surprised me. In favor since he's the best big C on the market, i just didn't think that's a player or name that moves the needle for him. That's a favor for AD or mentioning him is so AD doesn't go what about me?

So …. something out of the blue pops up where LeBron might do the unthinkable and take a pay cut enough to help us out big time if it gives us the full MLE which will help us greatly now with DLO opting in …. to make the team better which everyone here is holding their feat to the fire to do, you included, with the organization, FO, LeBron and even Bronny catching tremendous hate on social media …. as a backdrop ….. and you’re now going to get up on a soap box about some possible trend being created, from this most unique of circumstances? Even for you this is a Hill Too Far.

I hope it's quick. I hate when the entire market has to wait on a Clipper -- Kawhi, Harden and PG. They love to stall free agency.

No brainer on Klay. I agree he’s washed as a max player but MLE? Come on!

Tinkerbell's a** is outta here. Opting in didn't save him. He probably waited until after the draft, and Murray getting traded, to opt in, thinking he was safe.

    NOPE.
