They just don't go away. That was their first lead of the game. They had a record setting number of turnovers in the first half. Impressive effort.

haliburton's late game magic is insane. i think okc still wins the series, but it's going to be closer than people thought

can't believe the kings preferred to keep fox. well i guess i kind of can, because it is the kings after all

Interesting player. He hardly touches the ball. Best low-usage assists man the NBA has seen since Magic Johnson. I feel like he hardly touches the ball, but when he does he makes a huge impact.

    Career Stats

    Magic Johnson: 19.5ppg, 11.2apg, 22.3% usage

Tyrese Haliburton: 17.5ppg, 8.8apg, 21.4% usage. 78th in NBA this season.

Mind you, I am not saying he is Magic Johnson, but they both share this rare distinction for a point guard, along with apparently clutchness.

Stockton's usage was only 18.9. But he didn't score as much as them.

As good as the game was I agree with this as well, something just feels off, doesn’t feel special. Makes me miss the NBA on NBC days, they just did it way better, hell even TNT is better

^If you have to listen to one screaming and the other mumbling, it's a BAD combination.

This Pacers team feels genuinely special, like historically special, I hope they can finish off the run, I really don’t like a number of OKC players but I do like how Indiana plays, lot of easy to root for players

don't really hate okc, but i do hate SGA's foul baiting BS and they're a boring team to watch overall

indy's not the most fun team to watch either. overall, i don't think i've cares less about a finals since the cavs-KD warriors matchups in 17 and 18 that were over once the warriors advanced to the finals

I don’t hate anyone on OKC, just not a fan of multiple players, don’t like SGA’s foul hunting (though he wasn’t so bad tonight), Dort is kind of dirty, Holmgren and Williams are doofy haha. I like how Indy plays though, I like how they pick up full court almost all game, there’s some serious defense being played by both teams. It was one of the more entertaining finals games I’ve seen in a while, and I think this is going to be a very entertaining series from a pure basketball standpoint. I like how there aren’t a ton of stars either, pretty much just one on each team and and depth around them. Like Nembhard, he’s fun to watch, he plays hard, this shot was wild, they’re an easy team to root for, I like Siakam as well

Also, this is a wild stat, I knew OKC had been good, but not THAT good

kidd had a bunch of lower usage seasons as well. lonzo plays similarly. a commonality is that these kinds of pgs tend to be more fun to watch. but you kinda saw in the first half why it's not as popular--egalitarian ball movement opens up the risk for turnovers.

but hey, pacers stole yet another game in these playoffs. overcoming a half like that is wild, as was only being down 12 or whatever after turning the ball over 18 times. carlisle was right, they got lucky they weren't out of it.

guessing okc learned another lesson from this one and will have more of a killer instinct for the rest of the series. still, once again lost home court advantage in game 1. can't keep playing with fire...

but yeah, i still expect them to win the series, though i'm pulling for indy. carlisle's such an underrated coach.

Wow that overrated guy knocking down yet another buzzer beater and leading his team to a first game victory as a visitor in yet another playoff series! Too bad he’s so overrated or I might think he’s got a pretty clutch gene in him.

It's everthing about it. No court decals (which I understand it was the players that complained about it). Broadcast doesn't show the national anthem or starting lineup announcements. Abbreviated half-time show with people everyone hates (Myers is okay I guess, but a weird choice to be there with SAS and Perkins).

Then there's the narrative stuff. Ever since COVID things have felt just felt off.

Great game. I like both teams and will be happy for either one to win.

OKC was really good all year in defending the 3pt line. Last night the Pacers shot something like 46% from 3. I don't see that happening again this series.

Haliburton has bottled some kind of special sauce for the last minute of the games, but where was he the rest of the game? He finished with 14 points. So, for 47+ minutes he had 11 points. DWade is proclaiming him a Superstar. But, he's almost like the reverse Luka. Luka dominates the first three quarters and fades in the 4th. Hali disappears for most of the game and emerges from the phone booth wearing a cape in the last minute.
