Rob isn't trading Jalen one year after overruling the scouting department in order to draft him. Folks are bugging if they really think that's happening.

I’m out on Grant because of his age(30) and massive contract.
I think we should pick up Valanciunas for our Big. He’s serviceable, and maybe could be signed for the MLE.

Denver’s Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is declining his $15.4 million player option for the 2024-25 season to become a free agent, sources tell me and
    @Tjonesonthenba
. Caldwell-Pope – a two-time NBA champion – is expected to receive interest from multiple teams with salary cap space.
Denver is no longer a contender ?
First Brown, now KCP so basically they left with Jokic ,MPJ and Murray who will sign 209 million extension and everyone else

3 months ago, Denver was a budding dynasty.

    1. i don't trust this as fact.
    2. i don't think this would prevent a trade of jhs anyway.

we can get him, but we shouldn't. he's been in steady decline for years and was flat out bad last year. they'd have to pay me to take him, and the eagle's gone, so they got basically nothing i want.

Trading Jalen doesn't make any sense, unless we are getting a young PG prospect in return, he's only 21 years old and had some injury issues. It goes against this new desire, to "develop talent" that Rob's preaching now. That would be a bad look if it happened.

i agree that jhs isn't finished. i just think his salary makes some deals work, and the other thing rob always says is we'll do whatever we can to improve the team. i'm certain we'd move him if we could get a contributor.

Vucevic still average 18 points and 10 boards and almost never got injured.
45 Double-Doubles for the season it's not terrible

He's not untouchable but Rob's personally invested in that pick, I think he's going to keep him, unless it's a deal that he can't refuse.

He can still hoop, fits Lebron's two year window too.

I like the Vucevic trade idea if the Bulls are going full rebuild. He’s on a reasonable contract for what he produces on the court and his skill set does compliment AD well.

The problem is there's not a super robust middle class of centers. There are of course the stars like Jokic, Embiid, Bam, etc. that aren't available to us. There are the good starters like Claxton, Myles Turner, Jarrett Allen that also don't make sense for us because they're either not available or too good. It doesn't make sense to devote the bulk of our assets to one of these guys (even if they are available, which they likely aren't) because these are 30+ minutes per game guys and we don't want AD playing the bulk of his minutes at the 4. At the other end of the spectrum there are the vet min guys that we've been trying and haven't really worked out.

There's not much in between; good players that are available, can play next to AD effectively and also be his primary backup. I literally can't think of any besides Valanciunas. Maybe Nurkic but he's not available. The thing with Vucevic is that he's a nice fit with AD but can't be AD's primary backup because he offers no rim protection. So we're taking up $20 million in salary to play like 12 minutes a game next to AD decently well, and then be a bad option when AD's on the bench. Doesn't really make sense. Valanciunas isn't great in this regard either, but I think he's better than Vucevic. A middle-class man's version of Myles Turner is what we need, but I'm not sure that guy really exists. We thought Bamba could be that guy but he just sucks.

That's a high price for a salary dump for a team that doesn't have much assets and is about to lose another key piece for nothing

Vucevic's skill set overlaps Christian Wood a lot. We're better off targeting a serviceable defensive center.

These 20 and 30M dollar contracts, are going to be considered great values, in a few years. Some cats are going to be raking in 70M per soon.

Wonder if they’ll release him. Think he’d sign with us now?
