I was looking at it from a Cavs perspective also. Rui makes more sense next to Mobley than Allen does. Also, DK gives them a potential replacement that makes more sense next to Mitchell.

I’m not overacting Kinect. His skillset is unquie. I’m pointing to the 8 three pointer game. That shows. The guy can shoot it. I heard it from AD Anthony Davis.

now work ethic stuff like that. I don’t know. I’m not in the building. But the guy brings it.

    I think Allen

    Claxton

So ideal. Probably guys Luka likes. Those are impact long defenders with length.

Thinking about can we still acquire that keeping our depth and signing Clint Capella and Paul Reed???

Rui + Knecht + Vincent + 2030 pick swap for Allen + Okoro. CLE clears about 25 million off the books for next summer and stay competitive. The vastly improve their perimeter shooting.

We probably need to include the 2031 1st though, just from looking at our previous history of trading DK and the pick for a big. Allen is a lot higher salary though ,and we give up another asset in Rui, so maybe we dont.

    Reaves + 2031 1st for Murphey or Reaves + 2031 1st for Cam Johnson + #19 + #26. Which is the better trade?

Im always down for adding 1st rd picks, but what are we going to do, with Rui and Cam?

We are going to still have LeBron, Finney-Smith and Vando as 3/4

5 guys playing more or less the same position.

Rui would go out in the Allen deal. Rui + Knecht + Vincent + 2028 pick swap + 2030 pick swap for Allen + Okoro

    So at the very least
    PG: Luka/Dinwiddie/Bronny
    SG: NAW/Okoro/Goodwin
    SF: Johnson/Vando/Vet Min
    PF: James/DFS
    C: Allen/Niederhauser/Sims

Isn't Johnson more mobile than Rui? But yeah, you might be right. Cam might also be more of a 4 at this point. But, at least we got three big men to defend the paint. So, maybe the New Orleans deal is better?

Our roster is imbalanced because our genius GM, was determined to pack as many 3/4 around AD as possible, so that he could keep him at 5.

AD practicaly begged for more bigs for years. You see how quick Pelinka tried to make a trade after getting Luka? He could have done that same s***, while AD was here.

He just didn't want to do it.

Please don't hate me, but AD is a 5 at this point in his career. It made no sense that he was asking to play the 4, when we already had Lebron at the 4 anyway. Even if we got him bigs, it would make us too slow and make the floor-spacing even worse. So, yeah imo it does make sense that Pelinka tried to get a big after getting Luka, because then it would make sense, since we traded our starting 5 in AD.

But this kid Walter Clayton Jr. could be the starting SG next to Luka for years to come. He reminds me a bit of Dillingham, who I wanted the Lakers to trade up for. Super athletic guard who could shoot the lights out and defend. What is not to like about this prospect? I think we should try to get this kid in the draft. He's currently mocked #28, but he is going to move way up. Maybe we could get the 19th pick from Brooklyn or 16th pick from Orlando.

Yeah once the midrange jump shot went away AD was a 5. Plus LeBron aged into being more of a 4. We didn't invest in a 5 when AD was here because we already had a 5 on a max contract.

Well...AD played 4 and got us a ring. This floor spacing stuff is overrated. You don't build for a scheme, you build around your talent. Anthony Davis is not a 5, but he can defend like one. Forcing him to play 5, might be what contributed to him getting hurt all the time.

If we had gotten some decent bigs like he asked for, instead of constantly drafting and signing guards, those bigs, might have still been enough after the Luka trade

Instead, our 5's were Hayes, Len, and two G league players. Meanwhile all the guards and wings we signed or drafted, or either already gone, or we want to trade them.

Lebron James can still play 3, he's better at it than Rui or Austin. We won a chip, and came out and declared that AD was our starting 5 from here on out, in the following season. What did AD say? " I still prefer to play 4, I am not a 5"

I mean look, we were headed for a divorce from AD if we didn't get another big anyway IMO. The Luka trade just made it easier.

Now we need those 5's he was asking for ironically.

I think Nikel Alexander will be available.

I think Minnesota is going to save some salary money. And lean on their bench guys on Rookie Deals. Rob Dillinghan and Terrence Shannon Jr.

Those guys will replace the other bench guys who got paid.

Will he take the MLE? Is he more worthy of the MLE than a big? Why?
