Latest Klay buzz. Sounds like he wants to bolt over the disrespect. Also a bit on CP

    Looks like Looney is staying

I wouldn’t give up Vando at all.
We need to be good on offense AND defense- we all want great two way players, but with how much we already have tied up in salaries, the new very restrictive CBA, and the ever present Laker tax, it’s going to be extremely difficult to trade for even one of these.
I’m hoping for a positive outcome with the DLo situation, along with a serviceable backup big who weighs more than 190lbs.

I would be down with that but I can’t see why they would. Not a great package. Again that’s why I don’t see what’s changed on their end. They probably still want AR.

That’s what I’m saying. Why are they coming off an AR ask? I don’t see how we put both together. Maybe AR and Gabe and a pick or 2? Is that enough of an upgrade for us?

We have to give something. If it's the price to keep Reaves, I'm ok moving Vando for Dejounte. We'll have a guard defender, so Vando's value for us decreases.

I'm not sure if I give AR for Dejounte. Depends on the rest of the trade and what we do with the rest of the roster. But I admit that Dejounte's floor and ceiling are higher than AR, not by a lot but it's higher. And thinking in the future, Dejounte would pair well with Ant or Booker, for example. Reaves don't really pair nicely with another guard superstar. It needs to be an orchestrator AND a good defender. With Dejounte you "only" need a scorer, which all superstars are

    Wait- what?
LeBron isn’t a guard, but he controls the ball a lot while Austin is in and they work seamlessly together.
As for trading Austin for Murray? Not enough of an upgrade for me. Yes, He has shown in the past that he can be a very good defender, but he’s not a significant upgrade over Austin on offense.

Yeah, I'm talking about after LeBron. To win the championship you need a top5/10 player so we'll need one after Bron. I'm just saying that in 5 years it is more likely that we can pair Dejounte with said superstar than Reaves, because of the profile of each player.
I love Reaves, he's a dawg. I have his jersey. But being pragmatic and faced with a decision Dejounte OR Reaves, I was just sharing an argument that may justify going with Dejounte.
I agree that with Bron, Reaves is the better fit, in isolation. Though you can have Dejounte and DLo for example, and the team looks better than Reaves and DLo.

If we trade AR for Murray, a Vincent salary dump must be included, and we should not have to add any picks. Lakers also need to add Reddish, Hayes, or Wood.

Excellent points. You need to be very intentionally and precise with who you put next to Reaves, which messes with your flexibility. Murray could mesh well with most players, except for ball-dominant diminutive point guards.

Forget about worrying who AR might or might not pair with regarding some future "pipe" superstar like Ant for instance, five years from now ... come on what are the odds, especially if we trade any picks for any kind of upgrade this season. Worrying about that is silly. If he doesn't have to go out for a star this year then he's part of the plans going forward for the time being at least.

NBA Rumors: Klay Thompson 'Would Love to' Join Lakers amid Warriors Contract Buzz

    https://syndication.bleacherreport....n-lakers-amid-warriors-contract-buzz.amp.html

I don’t think Klay is looking for a MLE deal and the only way this could happen would be a sign and trade. I think Klay would accept 3 years/80 million, which would have to be a Rui/Gabe sign and trade.

The Lakers may have to also throw in a couple of future 2nd rounders as well for Golden State to help out, as this would keep their salary cap tax high.

If this could be done, it certainly makes the team intriguing where we also re-sign DLo. It would certainly help with Coach Redick’s vision of having all players on the court being able to shoot 3s.

Lebron and AD can feast on pick and roll all day with DLo/Reaves/Klay being viable 3 point threats if the defense dares to leave them open.

IMO Klay will have to decide if wants less years with more money (GS) or more years for less money (the field)

That might be interesting on offense, but the defense would be offensive. And that’s not me being defensive, just facts.

Being offensive and defensive at the same time usually means you're obsessive.
