What's even crazier... he's not worse than our big guys. How sad/pathetic is that. :(

On the topic of GS, they didn't realize, or didn't want to accept, that the 2022 title WAS the happy ending for those guys. It was remarkable to win that one after Steph basically missed all of 2020 and Klay had the Achilles and ACL tears. Curry was 34, Draymond and Klay were each 32. Wiggins fulfilled his potential for that one year. Poole played good, winning basketball. Otto Porter Jr. recovered from foot injuries to be a big role player for them and then was never heard from again. Even Iguodala had a little bit left at 38.

They're trying to get another star to squeeze one more title run out of Steph. They already did that! That huge game he had on the road in Game 7 against the Kings in 2023 was his probably his last big playoff moment. There's this idea now that every former superstar should spend their last few years contending for titles, otherwise their franchises are letting them down. That's just not how it works out for everyone. We were in the same place before this Luka trade came out of absolutely nowhere. It's over for them, they can either blow it up or just let Steph/Draymond play out their remaining years and reminisce about the good years. There's no shame in that.

I’d be fine with Sharpe, not likely a long term solution, but if it can be a 2nd and filler that’s not bad

I think the FO has to do something about the center position. It would be borderline negligent if they didn’t. Lebron is still a top 10 player in the playoffs and is now the SECOND option. Luka may never have a second option this good during his whole lakers tenure and we have maybe this year and next year left of Lebron having the juice?

Time to go for it in my opinion. And that means at the very least getting a serviceable center that can play 20-30 mins and not put Rui or DFS on Jokic.

SAC gets Valanciunas for Sidy Cissoko and two 2nd rounders.

It seems like we could've done that. WTF? Was Jonas not wanted here?

No. Not JJ apparently's type nor Luka's historically.

Definitely not wanted. He’s not good and doesn’t fit what we need. We only have 1 2nd rounder anyway, but it’s a good thing we didn’t go after Jonas.

I was high on Jonas in the summer but he’s washed. I don’t see the fit now.

He went from being big to a massive offensive lineman. We need a big guy, but he offers zero resistance in the paint. A big part of us wanting a big is in case we face Jokic - who dropped 60 on the Wiz. It’s a team game, but clearly Jokic can run circles around Val.

If LeBron takes a significant pay cut in the offseason (big if), I think we could open up the full MLE.

"I was not in post-nut clarity": yea, that's the Nico Harrison we all know. Checks out.

What's weird is that we now know he was talking to Pelinka for around a month about this.

Quite a lot of nutting clarity that was missed.

About time. Jimmy is exhausting. He’s on the downside of his career.

I’m really not sure this makes them better, he’s averaging 17/5/5 and is 35, that’s hardly more than Wiggins averages. More details on it
