This trade scares me. I am worried about Luka's lack of conditioning and the mentality that leads to it.

I feel like Max will end out an all-star and a 20+ ppg 3-D wing player.

We were just starting to play good basketball, love the addition of DFS and the return of Vando. With that lineup I think we are looking at top 3 in the west. Now? It will take most of the rest of the season just to work out how the new squad can play together. And who knows what other changes they will make or how Lebron will feel about it.

well and I think I said in my post that, though it would be interesting, I don’t see how Zion DOES work next to Luka and LeBron. It sounds nice but I don’t think it fits and I think the trade would be too hard

 

Need some an athletic big who plays D next.

 

Claxton is the guy I'm looking at. Athletic rim-runner that can protect the rim while also moving pretty well on the perimeter. You could get there salary wise with Rui and Gabe, the latter of whom I'm more open to trading now because Austin may be coming off the bench.

 

Anyone dissing on AD needs to calm down. Someone pointed out that this almost feels like Pau all over again. AD helped get us that Title. He MIGHT deserve more credit for it than LeBron.

as far as Luka goes, the guy is and can be an all-star. I have to believe, as has happened with some players, a change of scenery can bring a different attitude. Maybe being “second” to LeBron will whip Luka into shape, but either way….he’s elite and will be a great future for us after LeBron. And even if he doesn’t, maybe then we will finally have draft picks to regain and do damage.

we should keep Khenct and Reaves and see if we can trade anyone else. I MAY be down to keep Rui, but we’ll see.

 

I’m one of Max’s biggest fans, but in no way does he have the offensive skills to become an All Star.

Career cappers of a 22 year old player like Max, with clearly …. already …. More offensive skills and good -great ball handling skills, another 10lbs of muscle to come …. than he has been allowed to do out of necessity so far in games like his mid range arsenal he’ll have .. are something with your crystal balls.



How do you have a clue how hard he is willing to work on getting better every year …. like AR HAS? That’s 3-4 years from now and he has already shown he’s that kind of an athlete and a worker. Some of you had him traded as filler or playing over seas just 3 months ago.

 

AD has maybe two great seasons left in him, if he doesn’t get injured again.
Luka has maybe Seven as a Perennial MVP Candidate.
It’s WILD to me that anyone could think we lost this trade.
We could have been in “I hope our next lotto pick develops into THE Guy” for Eight to Ten years after LeBron retires.
Instead we have a MVP level player to build around. Sorry, but Rob just Mitchslapped the entire NBA with this one.

 

He has zero “go to moves,” no post game whatsoever, no mid range game, no juke moves, no crossover, no dribbling skills, and isn’t that great of a passer.
Sorry man, you would usually see multiple offensive skills by now in a future All Star.
Let’s place a friendly bet on wether or no he make ONE All Star Team in his career.

 

I think some are looking at the fit right now in a very short sighted way.
LeBron ain’t playing until he’s 50. Let’s be real.

 

I really like AD and Max as well.
However, I am amongst the group that felt the LeBron/AD pairing was done winning Chips.
We would have still been destroyed by Denver this year in the Playoffs and maybe only made it past the first round. We had no easy way to upgrade this team without creating new holes in the roster.
Masterful trade.

 

What part of he “isn’t” allowed to develop in games with those moves yet because we have 3 better offensive guys ahead of him in that pecking order did you miss. They’re trusting him bringing up the ball now. multiple times and I don’t know what you’ve been watching but I’ve seen flashes everywhere from summer league to g-league and certainly in games when forced to try. You’re going to hate it when Kidd tells him to use it all and lets him go. He’d be averaging near 20 by now here or shortly if unleashed. Excellent driving skills “to come” (like the 2 moves and finishes against the Knicks, mid range, floaters and from deep as being proven now. Add the great D and his great rebounding self already and 3 years from now and you’ve got unquestionably an all star caliber talent in Max at that level of physicality and athleticism to come. Will he get the votes averaging 20-25 a game who knows. I mean tell me the votes aren’t your criteria or I would laugh .. who gives a crap about that.

Or don’t skip any of my points above and tell me why you see it differently. I gave you 7 reasons plus his demonstrated work ethic …. all put together why he will be that level of player.

 

I already laid out the reasons as to why I don’t see it ever happening.
Yeah, I’ve watched every single game he’s played in- I just have a different opinion.
Sure, he still has room for improvement, but I just don’t see him making that huge of a leap.
