jrue holiday just made the difference between the C Bags being a perennial punchline and a champion. caruso does a lot of those same things (not all, but most).

Seriously? That’s weak compared to other stances you have had. Since when is “difference maker” in the NBA equivalent to superstar/franchise level player? Either a goal post shift or a heck of a reach in logic from you.

It’s true, that’s a tough one to take, but we do still have LeBron and AD. The Bulls have an overpaid LaVine, and and old and probably overpaid DeRozan, (and kind of ran off Michael Jordan and not go for title #7) so I’ll still take our owner. I give half the blame for Caruso to Klutch too, they had too much power and clearly wanted us to pay THT if we were only keeping one of the two.

The only difference making those three did this year is playing with their scrotums while doing nothing in important games.

Yup. And if we blame Klutch, we need to blame LeBron too. He was playing with both and wasn't smart enough to push for Caruso to re-sign. He even calls Caruso the GOAT lol
That's one thing it's weird about Bron. He's definitely super smart on the court. BB IQ off the charts. Yet, he's terrible in personnel management. He's push for Russ was absurd. Him not vouching for Caruso over THT also. The constant turnaround in his rosters in Miami and especially Cleveland on the 2nd stint too. Just weird for a guy who looks like a goat on basketball knowledge

Holiday is just another player without the Greek freak,Tatum and Brown and that’s my point. Those guys aren’t just another player they are main characters.

LeBron definitely wanted us to keep Caruso and was vocal about it.

I agree with @abeer3 Giddy for Caruso is robbery for OKC

it may also indicate Ball is not progressing as hoped and may not return

false. holiday was an all star early in his career, the guy playing next to AD the only time NO was any good, etc. hell, milwaukee moved basically just him for a supposed upgrade in lillard and just looked rudderless even before the injuries. holiday's just a winner, through and through.

    so, hard disagree here.

and of course your stars matter, but brown and tatum are actually one of the weaker star duos in the league, imo. white/holiday/horford is what made it work. jamal murray's one of weaker #2 stars in the league, but aside from jokic, it was kcp/gordon/porter(sometimes on the latter) that made it work.

if we replaced rui/dlo with horford and caruso, we might be hoisting a trophy right now.

Exactly what? The point of contention isn't that here, it's your whack extremely unrealistically restrictive definition of "difference maker". No points for you on that nonsense.

Trade looks like teams are being more reasonable with their asks for players which is good for us.

Irwin and Larsuel were talking about this on the pod yesterday, Irwin was saying he was getting the sense the trade market was correcting a bit. Aaron said he sees 2nd round picks being more valuable now, teams can get a decent player on a non guaranteed salary slot, or just for cheaper for longer contracts than before like we did with Max Lewis. So instead of having to give up a 1st teams can settle for 2 or even 3 2nds like we saw with the Rui and Bamba deals. I hope it’s true, the asking prices have been insane, some of these players have no business going for a 1st.

Yeah and I heard that pod and agree with them. The asks from teams were just crazy. If the market has corrected then we should have a reasonable shot at adding a couple of guys.

Without the stars those players are guys in the league. It works for those guys because of the stars they play with not the other way around.Put Holiday,Porter,KCP,,Gordon,Horford and Caruso together on a team with no stars and what do you have?

Not exactly true..Lebron made a point of saying, that he pushed hard, for Rob to keep both Caruso and Dudz. He said that the FO didn’t listen. That makes sense to me, Lebron is known for preferring vets over young guys..ie "f*** them picks". I believe that the Klutch stuff gets overblown..a lot.

The dude did go to 8 Finals in 9 seasons, though Pika...he might know a thing or two, about roster decisions. I still think that Rus was AD's pick, after Lebron couldn't get Dame or Demarr.
