Lol..Bev playing in the Israeli league now tho. I think Pat would make a decent assistant coach one day.

i mean, we can find low lights of anyone. for example, great defender patrick beverley got DUSTED in that clip. maybe vuc didn't expect a guy whose whole identity was as a defensive stopper to let a second string guard just blast right by him in isolation?

you can't tell me the defensive "coverage" plan there was "allow straight line drive right down the center of the paint and hope the center blocks the shot".

I don't know if they need a PG as Reaves and Lebron basically act as de facto PGs and very good ones

I do think they need another perimeter scorer. A guy who can create off the dribble. Maybe a mute point as either way hard to get

LOL at Bev there for what you said. Yeah Vuc had a brain fart for sure not being ready with his attention but for Bev to make it all him in extended embarrassing fashion in front of the whole arena after what he just let happen on the perimeter?? Well he has compared himself to LeBron IIRC correctly for something in the past. Just his face and mannerisms trigger me.

@Charlotte tonight and then @Philly tomorrow on TNT. Would not be surprised to see LeBron sit out tonight.

My current thinking on the center quandary - kick the tires on Turner. Of course he'd be the best pickup but I have almost zero belief that he is attainable. It's Prichard and he hates us; Indy's in 5th in the east not tanking. I just don't see it happening at all.

Try again for Kessler but we've been at this already and I highly doubt Ainge's price tag goes down. He doesn't have to move him and he knows very well that AD is asking straight up for a center. All of it hurts our negotiation. I just think the price will certainly be too much.

No to Valanciunas at this point. I'm not trading Gabe for him any more. Too risky given our thinness at PG and Gabe is playing more like his Heat version lately. I'm not giving up Max or Vando for Valanciunas either.

Vuc is still the most likely target for me and the ask doesn't seem too much. Rui, Wood and a couple seconds probably should get it done. It would solve some issues on the roster construction for sure. It's not a long term solution but his contract lines up with Lebron window (this year and next).

Sharpe is kind of a last resort for me. He's cheap which is great. Probably JHS and a 2nd?

Question .... under this coach and staff is Jaxson Hayes a better player now than last year and in NO? Seems to me like he's playing pretty well this year and "maybe" would be a little more than filler in a trade going out if he was involved in a trade where we're grabbing a center from a team?

If we were to go into a rebuild. This guy is just not a franchise player IMO.
I agree with what you said. Chicago probably demands a 1st from us, but if they do maybe we counter with okay but you must include an Ayo for Gabe swap. They then maybe do it, but then say you have to also take Carter for some more expirings. I think I got the deals here:

    Deal 1: Rui + Gabe + JHS + Wood + 2029 1st (top-14 protected) + 2025 2nd for Vucavcic + Ayo + Carter + 2029 2nd

    Deal 2: Milton + 2025 LAC 2nd for Craig

    PG: Reaves/Ayo/Carter
    SG: Christie/Knecht/Bronny
    SF: James/Craig/Reddish
    PF: Davis/Finney-Smith
    C: Vucavic/Vanderbilt/Hayes

    2-Ways: Koloko/Traore/Jemison

Sign a free agent with the open roster spot.

This trade helps our three-point shooting potential with Vucavic/Ayo/Craig/Carter. The latter three are 3 and D! Ayo/Craig/Carter also help our perimeter defense. Vuc gets 5 more rebounds per game than Rui. That is huge. Also, Craig is an excellent rebounder for a wing.

    Vuc > Rui
    Vando > Hayes
    Ayo > Gabe
    Craig > Reddish
    Carter > Milton

With the recent acquisition of DFS, and Vando coming back it would be like we got 7 new players!
Great depth, improved perimeter defense, improved three-point shooting, improved rebounding. Solid high character/iq/hard working vets.
DFS, Carter also legit 3 and D players better than the Reddish's and the Gabes of the world. This is a great haul, heck I might consider giving them and unprotected 1st instead.

    In Out
    DFS Dlo
    Vando Lewis
    Vuc Rui
    Ayo JHS
    Craig Wood
    Carter Gabe
    29 1st(top 14) Milton
    25 2nd Free Agent
    25 2nd (LAC) 29 2nd

As opposed to WHOM we would have a snowball's chance before melting or being tossed into a volcano of landing here realistically or non-pipe wise ... with one or maybe both those firsts gone plus some of our young talent given up likely for Kessler? Which of the franchise small guys vs realistically should be in MVP "conversations" at the least every year BIG Man AD? Not to mention the point with Kessler if we got him would be to pair at times with AD to make us the HUGE defensive monster we had in 2000, plus would still be a starting quality hopefully like Zubac going forward when AD is done or finally traded. And AD gets to in his opinion be his best most productive self again a lot of the time as a PF.

Yeah that's cute. Answer the question .... who you got that is as valuable as he is even on the start of the latter stage of his career both sides of the ball that is "franchise" quality we have any shot at with any of our picks gone and some of our best young talent?

I think it's pretty obvious we aren't giving up a 1st for Vuc but there are some other teams that might overpay for him

Just go all in for Kessler and be done with it. He's averaging 14pts, 13REB, 2BLK, and 78% from the floor over the last 10. Of course, there are spacing concerns, but that is incredible production for a 23-year-old big.

    Koloko to start lol.
According to insider Mark Stein, Lakers no longer interested in Vucevic( Chicago 34 years old) and Jacob Poeltl («Toronto», 29 years old). These players do not fit into the club’s long-term strategy.

yeah, the chatter is weird right now. not moving rui not interested in vuc or poeltl (these are related, i'm guessing). sharpe deemed not good enough, no good salary match for valanciunas. so it's kessler or bust, and kessler's not really available?

we'll see, i guess. would be pretty odd for the center move to be a two-way guy after the admissions from both coach and players that we could use one.

I just don't believe, such as in this case which would hurt (what) the Lakers should be doing "posturing", to land like Kessler from Danny .... that anyone (from Lakers) is "leaking" jack as to their strategies. It would be too easy to trace by putting up false info in FO meetings and should be a fireable offense.

Maybe we go after Time Lord then? I worry about the injury history but maybe he’s past it? Good defender. Who goes out/in for the salaries? I’m not giving up Vando.
