    After the trades:

    DFS > Rui

Higher volume 3s/ Lower usage/Better Defender

    Max > Dlo

Better defender / Max approaching equal volume as Dlo / Lower usage

    Vuc > Hayes

Much bigger body / Much better shooter / Much better rebounder / Stays on the floor

Vucevic is 34 ,Rui is 27 .I think it's an argument that Vucevic is washed and don't play defense, but funny enough Rui also doesn't play defense

I know they are different positions, but fwiw Vuc DBPM this season is -0.2 and 0.2 for his career. Rui is -0.7 this season and -1.2 for his career.

Sadly, at 40 years old Lebron is still probably a better defender at the 3 than Rui. A lot of it is iq.

Prior to Max's emergence, I was really pushing for the Lakers to get a point of attack defender as the number one priority. But since that time, we basically gained two of those guys, arguably three of them with Vando coming back and Vincent's improvement. We also improved our perimeter D by getting DFS. So I would not feel as bad as getting a big now, but it needs to be a shooting big, like Vuc.

Man, I don’t know about Vucevic, 34 years old and making 21.5 mil next year. Rui has his flaws, but even then he can be a really nice bench scorer, not sure I want to give him up for Vuc specifically. Gabe+Vando would be an easier thing to part with for me, but even then, if we aren’t getting a guard back somehow.. I mean Gabe has been pretty good lately, I’m not looking to dump him just to dump him.

The biggest thing I took away from this was that he said Lebron and AD don't want the Lakers to mortgage their future. That is very informative information. They may be copying what Steph and Draymond said a little bit, which is not a surprise. In any case, this is good news. If Lakers want to extend the olive branch to AD, they could make the Vuc deal. That one shouldn't be too expensive.

34 is not old for a solid starter, it's the peak, of that player's talent and experience IMO. Especially a career 20 10 guy. That tells me, that he understands how to play the game, to his talents and produce. It's the guys coming off of major injuries, or a couple seasons of moderate injuries, at that age ,that you should be worried about.

As for Vucevic specifically, I'd roll the dice. He doesn't require a FRP, he will be on an expiring contract next season, and 21M is a decent salary, to add to a trade with picks, to chase a younger player.

yeah, vuc is 34, but only under contract for one more year--which is probably lebron's last year. i'm in on rui/vet min/2nds for vuc. i'd do a lotto-protected 26 swap, too, though i think chicago should take the two 2nds to be safe.

anyway, i think vuc being on the lebron/AD short timeline is more feature than bug. moving future firsts for kessler is a bigger gamble.

Yeah. Honestly the asking price for Vuc seems fair to me.

    Get AD his big.
I would like to keep him happy so he doesn’t dip when LeBron retires.
I would prefer it to be someone who can play defense and or rebound.
Our problems this year have mostly been defensively. I believe we are the 26th rated team on that end.
Vucevic would not help at all on this end.
That being said, I think Rob has to get someone in here without giving up any of the firsts.

Yup. Getting Vuc seems to be one of the least polarizing trade candidates amongst Lakers fans, somewhat like DFS was, but Vuc has higher upside for this team.

Vuc at least rebounds. I think the opportunity cost is too high to get a non-shooting big. Vuc is the ideal happy medium player if you will.

I think Vuc would give enough production to make up for his weaknesses.

I’m okay with Vuc. I don’t like his age, but it doesn’t matter much if we only have him for 1.5 seasons.
I just don’t like giving up Rui for him, but I would get over it.

Rui wouldn't reach his potential until he gets to play full time power forward and is surrounded with shooters. We have too many power forwards and guys wanting to play power forward.

What is wrong with 34 years lol.
Kessler will never get to Vucevic shooting .
Lakers don't need another non- shooting center, they have Koloko,Heyes and Trey Jemison..
