i'd have to pass. we got taurean prince for less than half of DFS's salary last year, and prince was the better player. we could re-sign prince or sign another prince and give up no assets.

i'm probably in the minority that thinks we're better off holding onto gabe and hoping he can prove to be a useful player than selling at his absolute lowest value point and paying a pick to get off him.

I'm with you on Gabe, have been preaching it. And he's a DLo insurance too, in case he walks. We'll miss the scoring and shooting, but he can be a starter for us and we can split the MLE to get another guard and a wing, or whatever we want. Him staying gives us options and it's a nice contract to trade down the line when he doesn't have negative value.

He does need to comeback healthy and playing reasonably well though

How can we be a 3 years running tax payer and have the MLE?

I read that if DLo doesn't sign, we're under the tax and get the full MLE. If he re-signs, we get the mini MLE

if dlo walks we're still over the tax but under the apron, hence full mle.

last i knew, repeater doesn't affect mle?

sexton's the first guy he mentions, and we have a working relationship with ainge in utah.

he also mentions sharpe, whom several of us have named as a target for a couple years now, and jerami grant (same).

the C Bags fan in him doesn't name us as a single potential destination, of course.

Very interested in seeing how long they can keep the band together as these salaries on their roster get MASSIVE. It's ending much sooner than later. I feel as though they had to win it this year cause it might have been their only shot.

been saying this for a while. next year is still a possibility, but i just can't see horford holding up another year--and he's REALLY important to them and simply cannot be replaced at his salary level. if they have miraculous health again, they can win again. but they're just so shallow after their top 6 players. any long stretch of injury from basically anyone is super problematic.

i just don't see that C Bags core winning another ring

tatum/brown have both managed to stay healthy and avoid long term injuries. who knows how much longer that'll happen

    horford is old

    holiday is getting up there

    porzingis can't stay healthy

they probably won't get such an easy path to the finals again with all the injuries

plus white is going to command $$$ and they'll have a lot of money tied up to tatum/brown/white if they decide to extend him

I think he deserves it. He's elite on defense. Perfect complement to Brown/Tatum. I think with those 3 they will always be top 4 in the East. That's their floor. Then it's up to the other pieces to give them their ceiling.
