not sure gabe for jonas is something we can do after moving dlo. if anything, we need to add another ballhandler somehow.

and my immediate reaction to lavine to denver was "who's taking nnaji and why/how"? i found it funny it even gained traction.

for us:

poeltl, olynyk, boucher. probably in that order.

feel olynyk should be had for very little, as he has a year left on his deal past this one. we'd have to use gabe, though, so i'd want shead back. gabe/wood/jhs for olynyk/shead works cap-wise.

 

Technically we could move JHS, Milton and Wood. That would match Jonas at 9.9M. Idk though, I like Wood, I'm interested into what Shake has too. Yet I would like to keep Vanderbilt. Quincy might not be ready for prime time, so the buy out market is about it.

i mean, the pels let jonas walk and opted to play with a 19 year old rookie on what was supposed to be a playoff team instead. the wiz can hold out for a first all they want. it's not coming.

same with kuz, poole, and whomever. they're learning over there that losing begets losing of all kinds.

 

Trade scenario:

Lakers get Kessler and Sexton
Jazz get Rui, Wood, JHS and 2027 unprotected FRP

Jazz don't want to pay Kessler and they wanna bet on Keyonte George over Sexton. They get the best tank commander in town with Wood in their pursuit for Flagg. Get a look at Rui to see if they favor him over Collins moving forward. They get to see what JHS can do in a tanking season. If he's ok, they give him a 2y minimum to be their 3rd unit guard and he signs it. They also get the full '27 pick which is a win for them. They reduce their payroll for next year too

For us, this only makes sense if Vando is back, which is why I think this deal is being held. Jazz already had him and I don't see any benefit for them to do it again. So, if he's back, he and DFS will take all the minutes at the 3 and 4 apart from Bron, which makes Rui expendable. We start Max and DFS with the star trio. We get Gabe, Sexton, Knecht, Vando and Kessler off the bench. Our 3rd unit has Milton, Reddish and Hayes and a clear slot to get any buyout they may appear.
But this only works if we get Vando for 3 months

 

Going to need one more piece. Just can't trust some of these roleplayers to be consistent Rui, Max. They're not bad players but man against these playoff caliber teams (similar to Denver) weaknesses just get exposed.

Only watched bits and pieces of the Cavs game if Rui doesn't bring scoring not a lot of offense beyond the big 3

 

I wonder which direction they go? Rui + Vincent + 2029 1st (unprotected), and 2031 1st (top-14 protected) for Cam Johnson works. Brooklyn mostly gets what they want. He would make an impact.
