^^^ no we had the 2nd pick and took Lonzo, who probably Magic (mainly) wanted as he had been a great local point guard at your (alma mater?) and had great size, speed, athleticism and defensive abilities. Plus his old man.

yeah, it's interesting to look back now. he seemed very attainable pre-draft, but if boston was truly sold on him and knew we might take him, they probably wouldn't have traded down.

whatever; i don't blame the FO. i didn't think tatum would be this good, nor did most scouts, etc.

now, in retrospect, we probably should have at least worked him out to put fear into danny that trading below us was a risk. hopefully, we learned from that part at least.

this is true, but he might not have needed as much added along with him in such a scenario.
