If Lakers were going to trade for LaVine, they should of been more proactive instead of waiting until he is healthy now that he is playing well. With that said I think we could still get him for Russell/Rui/Vincent. Probbaly difficult to find a taker for that contract. Lakers probably also have to take a small contract or two like Phillips. I would like to do a 3 for 2 to be able to sign Olveri.

Wish we could censor anything Irwin related the way C bags are censored. Not a serious human being. Not a legit insider. Bonafide scrub.

No doubt, but I guess I thought of that as the same thing. My bad.

Yeah, JDub and Chet probably improve their scoring numbers a bit too. I've been fairly anti-OKC because I hate the over-praising of asset accumulation over actually winning basketball games/series, but they're going to be damn good this year. I think they get to the Finals.

I know Kawhi isn't popular here, but man this bums me out. I really feel for the guys whose bodies give out on them like this. I can't imagine what its like to put in all that work for years, make it to the NBA, and become one of the best players in the world only for your body to betray you. Kawhi, Rose, Brandon Roy, I wish we'd gotten to see these guys stay healthy. Kawhi in particular was one of my favorite players to watch between the dominant individual defense and throwback midrange game.

i get it, but will counter. i think guys like cp3 have played through similar or more serious conditions. kawhi won't play unless he's 100%, which is how he preserves his rep. AD is vilified here and elsewhere because he plays hurt AND/OR doesn't play often enough.

kawhi's SA exit was most definitely about this issue--their doctors thought he was good enough to go (probably because TD and DR and others played through similar issues).

he's getting paid a ton of money to sit on his a**, and i don't have a lot of sympathy, tbh. further, he catches ZERO heat from fans or the media.

f*** that, man. if your knee is that bad, don't sign a 200 million dollar deal stretching 4 years out. if it isn't, get on the floor.

We have their 2nd round pick? Might be #31. That would be great. Better than a late first..

And f***ing OKC has their pick.

Imagine getting a player who finished top 5 in MVP voting in his prime and losing that trade so f***ing badly that it has the potential to go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history

no, no, the AD trade was the overpay. paying more for paul george was just more 4-d chess from the clips.

Don't really care how you slice it; OKC might get another lottery pick. That's just crazy.

    Trade Idea:

Option 1: Reaves, Russell, Vincent, JHS, Hayes, 2025 Clippers 2nd, 2029 Lakers 1st (unprotected) , and 2031 Lakers 1st (top 5 protected) to Charlotte for Ball, Richards, Micic, and Washington.

    Why for Lakers?

We really don't have a point guard of the future. Reaves and Russell are question marks. JHS is a no go. Vincent is a back up. Ideally, Reaves would develop into that role, but there are still questions about his ability to handle the ball under pressure, etc. It seems like a foregone conclusion that Russell will be out of the picture soon, and Vincent is more of a backup than a starter. JHS has looked terrible. Ball is only 23 and is an exciting young 6-7 point guard who could pass and score. I haven't heard any questions about his ball handling and defense, so I guess he is passable in those areas. Probably still need somebody else to defend the opposing ones though, kind of like Rozier did. Ball solidifies the point guard position. Micic was a 30-year old rookie last season. Played in Europe. He is a functional back up point guard. The Lakers have been targeting Richards, so they get him as well for the backup center upgrade. Washington is cap filler, but helps with point guard depth.

    Why for Hornets?

They go into full tank mode in a great NBA draft. Ball has been plagued with injury early on in his career, so they may have questions about him. Russell is expiring, so they could just waive him. Vicent, Hayesm and JHS don't really jeopardize making the team better. Reaves does, but he is still a lesser player than Ball. Reaves also seems to be the type of player who would keep the seats filled for them while they are loosing, and could be a decent building block for their future in his own right. Charlotte gets valuable picks. The Clippers pick will likely be in the 30s, and our 29 and 31 could be in the lottery.

kawhi at least has won a couple titles and finals mvps, so his case isn't as sad as guys like oden, roy, or rose

he's basically going to go out like nash did with us aka not retire despite not physically being able to play anymore to collect the money he's owed

    Another injured big for OKC
Jalen Williams suffering a left ankle sprain and getting knocked out of the Thunder's preseason finale.
So Chet should be playing 40 + minutes

    Come back home.
The Pacers are waiving Swider on Friday, Tony East of SI.com reports.

Swider spent the preseason with Indiana but was unable to secure a roster spot. He will now enter the 2024-25 campaign as a free agent
JJ will work his magic and you with Connect4 will be biggest stars
