I agree. Minny became much worse unless Ant can leap another level this season(becoming a consistent go-to guy every night).
Can KAT’s body hold up to the minutes Thibbs will demand of it?
I’m claiming “no,” but I do applaud the NY FO for going for it.
I also question Randle’s fit next to the over hyped Gobert, but understand why he was moved.
I will continue to root for Randle(for obvious reasons) and for NY in the playoffs.

I don't think that Naz Reid and Keita Bates-Diop could replace KAT for 82 games. .Naz would be somewhat similar to Montrezl with better 3 point shot but ,no way Minnesota is better after this trade

don't think there's a worse shooting frontcourt in the entire league than gobert/randle/mcdaniels

One thing I forgot about Minny is that they have Naz Reid who plays like KAT at a cheaper price. Maybe adding bruiser Randle may be effective when they brick shots.

Can Lakers get him .He still can play around 20-25 minutes and he's not old.
The New York Knicks have waived Marcus Morris Sr. and Chuma Okeke, team says.
In 37 games for Sixers Marcus averaged 6.7 points in 17.2 minutes on the floor and at 40% on 3 point shots
In 12 games for Cav's he averaged 5.8 points in 15 minutes and 41.4 % on 3 points shots

    Do it Rob!

Injuries are an issue but for $14m on a deal that's less the following year (12.9), sign me up.

Disagree with conviction. He played 31 games two times in the last 4 years, one being last year. 59 the year before. What can make us fail is exactly injuries, Vando, Gabe, AD or Bron are all injury concerns that if not available, we're in trouble. Adding to that solves nothing, imo.

We would have to give up Gabe or Vando too, and I prefer both, I think we need more a POA defender and a perimeter defender than another big, putting health aside. Solves nothing to have another big and no one to throw at Murray, Ant, Shai, Luka and Irving, Tatum and Brown. Literally our path to a title is against teams with their stars in the perimeter (except Jokic but Murray kills us too and you can't stop the former), so I really think it's a bad move.

We need a center with JHS and vet min contracts. Maybe Max, depending on the deal. I thought last season showed clearly how much Vando and Gabe (not them particularly but their roles) are missed in our roster

That and maybe a 2nd is all I'd be willing to give up because of those injuries.

Any option out there in the $10-$15m range that will be gettable will have warts. Whether it's injuries (Mitchell) or they are only offensive players (Valanciunas).

I'm in the beggars can't be choosers boat if you're not sinking a lot of assets into the acquisition.

But JHS' salary is only below 4 million. Him and a vet min is a bit below 7 million. So Mitch is not possible under that package

In December, can't recall the exact date, you can stack the minimum salaries and those that signed deals will be eligible to be moved (Valanciunas). So that's when I'm looking to make a move and why I said a page ago "December can't come soon enough"

Yeah, Dec 15th. There's a possibility but even adding a 3rd vet min is still slightly below 10 million and we can't take more money in a trade. It also means the other team has 2 roster spots available which never happens. Alternatively, said team can waive our vet mins (or their own players) after the trade but that means they are not getting much as a return (they still eat that salary after waiving). So, unless some team is super high on JHS or one of the vet mins, it's really hard to see that happen without throwing Max or one of the upper salary guys. Unless we are sending a FRP which I think is bad business for these players.
I think our most realistic options (with JHS and vet mins) within that 7mil below threshold are Nick Richards, Day'Ron Sharpe, Isaiah Jackson (if Pacers don't want to pay him, which I think they do, and as a 1 year rental for us) or Wiseman and Powell (who looked washed).

Then above and likely demanding Max/Gabe/Vando we have Valanciunas, Landale, Bitadze, Kleber, Mo Wagner, Boucher, Carter Jr, Adams or Stewart. Most are not worth our package, unless we got a 2nd player that can be close to replicate what we are sending out, which is unlikely.

But we have had the best training staff over the recent years, so we would be okay!

That has to be the Clips - he hasn't been a Laker for 2 years and it wasn't the Lakers who let him go so he could be with the Nuggets
