Still pissed we gave Shoebox away for nothing. Imagine if he was still a Laker paired with AD….

No kidding, that was infuriating. Just to get a "shooter"....I swear, many of us here are better GMs.

Yeah Magic and Rob weren’t going to pay to give him the post rookie contract because the cap space they wanted to have after trading for AD and going after Snake too, if I recall correctly, and agree they couldn’t have done it worse. Same thing with Randle and Lopez?

Plus who knows …. if Zu was still here that summer when the AD trade did happen after Magic bailed on the team …. maybe Pels demanded him instead of Hart?

yeah it was more because of kawhi than AD

randle was a casualty of the possibility of lebron coming + cap space for AD/kawhi. i recall he wanted to stay but once lebron came he changed his mind. i think the lakers actually handled that one well by letting him go where he wanted. lopez was another major bungle by the FO

Sources: Free agent guard Jordan Goodwin has agree to a camp deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jordan Goodwin is coming off a season where he spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns.

He finished the year with averages of 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 36.9% from the field and 29.8% from the three-point range in 57 games.

Goodwin was one of the top free agents available and will now have the chance to compete for a roster spot in Los Angeles during training camp. In 121 career NBA appearances, Goodwin holds regular-season averages of 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists

didn't he kill us one game last year?

wait--looked it up. i think he played a good half against us early with phx then scored 23 against us when playing for memphis late in the season. both not super efficient outings. not sure why we need another guard, even for training camp.

Never heard of this guy. Can someone explain the appeal? 36% from the field is horribad for a guard.

It's just a camp deal. Probably need bodies for certain drills and scrimmages.

    Gabe insurance? Scary...
More likely, JHS may not be ready in training camp
    He's a good defender

We should bring to camp guards who play offense only, so they kill our backcourt and we address the issues sooner

Rob loves guards..the more the merrier. Whatever happened to that guy we picked up from Portland a few seasons ago? Can't think of his name now, but he lit us up that season in a game up there, and we signed him to a couple of 10 day contracts I believe.

    This quote is especially telling...

"Brandon wants to stay here,” Griffin said. “He believes in what we are building. That's meaningful to him. That's meaningful to his agent. At the same time, there is a financial reality that we all deal with. I think we're excited about Brandon. We know he's excited about us. Usually, those things yield good results one way or the other.”

Well, Griffin may be a little off on this assessment, and the wording is just terrible.
