Salaries are just going to keep going up. It’s crazy to think about.

So, if anyone was actually a genius and a great athlete in college, where they could go work in any great think tank around the globe, they would still choose to play a ball game because, even if they sucked, they would make way more money than they could ever sniff in any other field. The world is mad to pay these guys that much, but then, the ball clubs must be making way more. It is truly mind blowing.

Someone do a wellness check on Thibs. He going to be OK?

Regarding Trent, if you can get him for $5m you do it. Period. He was looking for 5x that and they misjudged the market. I think he's closer to a $12-15m player, so even at that evaluation you're getting a bargain. I'm not sure the Klutch aspect will work in our favor here. He might can them for the advice to test the market this summer and for making him think there was $25m a year out there for him.

All we're missing is a Tubi night. Or are they saving that for the NBA Cup?

Heard some clarity on sending out minimum salaries from Lane's pod yesterday. I know there was some debate here on it earlier in the week and it's been confusing on all trade scenario platforms.

You CANNOT stack minimums if getting back a player.

You CAN send multiple out if no player is coming back. So if we could convince Detroit to absorb Wood and Reddish and give them a 2nd round pick and financial incentive then in return they send us a worse protected 2nd that never converts or is top 59 protected (or whatever), that's the only way you can send out multiple minimum salaries to a team.

Massive player movement in the summer and at the deadline used to be one of the most fun things about the NBA. They pretty much have completely ruined it with this new CBA.

Destroyed the only two times of the year where they owned the NFL. Idiots.

That was their sell. NBA was a 365 day a year sport. Free Agent frenzy. Trade deadline bonanza. The players gave all that up and gave the owners everything they wanted. For what? Gambling and weed endorsements? It's going to get really ugly really fast the second this new TV money starts raining from the sky. Making for a very hostile 4 year run.

Players made a harder to sell, less valuable product. So the league is going to have to step in during the next negotiating round in 2029 and figure a better deal cause they're both getting f***ed in this one.

Us fans are the ones who are actually getting screwed. I will never feel sorry for Billionaire or Multi Millionaire owners, or the majority of players who can accumulate generational wealth for playing a game in which they love. Some of them, if they were smart with their money, only need to play our their first rookie contract in order to live Extremely comfortable for the rest of their lives. Don’t even get me started talking about the $250 million extensions.

Doesn't help that the Bulls refuse to see them as negative assets and attach value to them. Maybe if they didn't give up AC for Pedo Turkoglu then they could've attached him to dump one of them.

LOL... Turkoglu smack. Although.... Josh Peddy wishes he was half the player Turk was.

That being said, they both have some kink in them. Turk wanted to ... urm, urinate on JJ.

Pretty sure the Bucks only had minimum contracts remaining (could be mistaken)

If so, that kinda stings because he would have been great value at the TPMLE yet alone the minimum.

I would guess that we could/would have made a trade to free up a minimum spot if Trent was interested in that same deal with not, but most likely he wasn’t interested because Milwaukee offered a much larger role. He probably slides right into Beasley’s role there as a 30 mpg starter.

Meanwhile our back court is much more crowded. So really I’m not too pressed about this. We might be better off just giving Christie more run than having to squeeze Trent into the rotation

This is huge fail to me. Trent Jr is 25 years old, he’s not some washed up 34 year old on his last legs. The Bucks now got him and Prince on minimum deals and we’re sitting here with Cam Reddish and Jaxon Hayes because for some reason Rob gave them player options. Trent Jr is an instant starter for us, he shoots almost 40% from 3, and while his defense has fallen off, there’s no reason it couldn’t ramp back up in a different role at his age. This season is going to be bad if we stand pat, we’ll be talking about how DLo’s contract will be more appealing at the deadline, then we won’t move him, and then we’ll have him either walk or re-sign yet again, rinse and repeat. We still also have no actual backup center on this roster.
