I've liked his game for a couple years. But it's been odd to me that he can never get consistent enough PT even when they were shorthanded during his first 3 years there. He finally got actual minutes last year and did something with them

They seem determined to get another wing in there whether it's Kuz, BI or DD. Shuffling deck chairs.

I think one of the Sac pieces would have to go to SA. Both Barnes and Huerter have two years left, don't see the Bulls wanting contracts or talent and both can be contributors on playoff caliber teams. Barnes being the oldest 32 old in the history of the league and Huerter being a shooter. Maybe SA sends Lyles (expiring), one of their young unproven players that no one could pick out of a lineup, whatever salary ballast needed, and some second round compensation?

I think it was the nature of Reed’s contract. Was non-guaranteed for $7.7 million this year and $8.1 million the following year.

If I was Philly, I get it. I’d much rather have the bigger Drummond at $5 million over that Reed contract.

But if I’m the Lakers, I much rather have Reed at the minimum (or maybe even TPMLE) over Hayes/Wood

Yeah THAT is a little concerning. Drummond is cheaper and bigger though... and they just drafted Bona too.

I would prefer WCJ and Richards over Reed for sure but Reed is a free agent and easier to sign if we really wanted him (waive one of our vet mins).

btw, there's morey screwing another player. they could have let reed go earlier in FA and he could have probably gotten more money or at least recovered his losses on the non-guarantees.

WOW,so much for Heat culture.Per multiple NBA sources: Caleb Martin had turned down a five-year, $65 million extension ahead of free agency, one that would have required him to opt into the final year on his Heat contract by last Saturday's deadline. That offer no longer was possible once he opted out.

he fumbled, schroder style. away from miami he'll either get hurt (like everyone we get!) or get exposed (like most other miami exports), and it's almost impossible he makes up the difference on that contract (30+ million), considering his new one runs at least three years. fire that agent.

I wonder what these guys really think of themselves when they turn down so much guaranteed money

Like you said their agent should be spelling it out for them

With a solid financial advisor he would be set for life

Not interested in Graham, but very curious why the Spurs are giving up draft capital to dump a $12 million expiring contract when they already have cap space?

Was this move necessary to help in the DeRozan S&T with Chicago and Sac? Or are they opening up shop and trying to free even more cap space so they can accept contracts to facilitate three team trades even beyond the DeRozan stuff?

EDIT: Actually Graham’s contract was only partially guaranteed for $2.8 million. So the Spurs gave up a second only to free up an extra $2.8 million since they could have just cut him. I’d guess this ends up being folded into the DeRozan trade and makes more sense with the Spurs getting back some extra assets

Another possible back up center option... not a big fan though.

Wonder if we see some big trades soon later today with all these teams making roster spots.
