this is a no-brainer--lebron doesn't need the 800k or whatever.

you can't combine players in an outgoing trade if you are over that apron!

we don't own the 2025 pick. we can't tank until next year. i think we probably will, too. but not this year.

Sucks, he better take that “cut”. I can’t believe we are in the 2nd apron with THIS roster, we don’t even have a center :D

Trades were always the move, that Klay or Derozan stuff just popped up. And we did what we tend to do, go kicking the tires on stuff, in order to see if we might get something better than what we originally planned. Ie Hurley...still can't understand Klay for 4/80..unless we want to get rid of Tinkerbell at damn near any cost.

You could get 4 firsts for AD right now, there’s our picks right there. I’m sorry, I’m just not a fan of being a middle of the pack team, either try to win now, or try to build something. And the quicker we learn what this FO can do without LeBron and Klutch as a crutch, the quicker they can be pressured in selling when ticket sales fall off when we’re awful.

I actually don't like that this is even a conversation. Means Rob has zero faith in his ability to make ANY trade.

having two big max players really makes it hard.

rui for stewart saves us 2 million and gets us a center :)

we can probably get them to just take reddish along with him, too.

Wait, who’s Stewart? From Detroit that tried to kill LeBron? He’s like 6’8.

i just can't support a full tank in a year where we don't own our pick. just bad business.

also, moving on from lebron before lebron asks to move (not we ask him if he wants to, he asks to) is just not the laker way. and the laker way is how lebron got here in the first place.

to me it means he doesn't want to be further backed into a corner. again, you can't combine players in a trade if you're over the second apron. i guess we could tell lebron that we'll hold off on signing his son to a guaranteed contract until we can get it sorted, right? or is turnabout not fair play?

Stewart is a 6'8 power forward man, he avg 6 rebs in 30min a game. Lebron is bigger than him. That's a Trez redux. To hell with giving up Rui for that dude.

he's heavy and has a 9 ft standing reach. if kevon looney and xavier tillman are centers, stewart's a center.

he played center his first three years in the league and averaged closer to 9 rebs in 25mpg then. you can't put any stock in any stat from detroit last season.

brook lopez averaged 5 rebounds last year and people want to trade for his 23 million dollar contract.

when we say we want a center, we mean "a guy who jokic can't just back down all the way under the hoop". that's stewart. try it, jokic.

yes he tried to kill lebron. no, i'm not denying that's an incentive.

And he doesn't hit the boards or defend the paint well either, standing reach or not.

in fairness, they know the lakers can't publicly call them on this b*******. so it's not that hard to win the battle.

I mean maybe? I guess it’s probably true he saw Kobe well treated and thought he could milk us for that until he’s done, not sure if that’s good or bad. I think maybe it’s time for a new Laker way, a deep pockets group taking over and installing people that know what they’re doing. The

The Lakers are starting to remind me of Disney with Star Wars and Pixar. Almost everyone who was associated with those brand when they were good and successful are gone now, it’s just the name keeping it going, but they’re run by a bunch of new people who don’t know what they’re doing. Once in a while they still manage to put out a hit when they let the last guy left connected to the old regime make something, but mostly it’s just garbage. That may be our future, doubling down and sinking further and further down.

No. He avg 8.7 rebs once, ironically his best two seasons came playing next to Jerami Grant. AD was backing him down pretty easily, hell..he had problems with Trez.

that's possible. it's also possible that we just become the twilight place for megastars, which has pluses and minuses but beats being most franchises. we can't know until the lebron era is actually over, though. kickstarting that doesn't serve any goal i can see.

Ship Tinkerbell out for Clint Capela, if we don't trade for Grant. Rui if we had to.

I imagine we dump someone to re-sign Prince. But yeah, maybe he walks too and we replace him with Max and Knecht

Hayes and Wood are 10 to 15mpg guys, together! They're the bottom of our rotation, so they aren't a big problem. Still want to upgrade there, but a backup big is not winning us more 5 games
It's not ironic. Grant is awful in rebounds
