I mean, this is true, but Dallas could also be regretting this deal after one season.
I like Klay, but by himself, he wasn’t going to turn us into a serious contender.

Agreed, but Klay fell into the “Melo Paradox.” I didn’t want him, but I was also embarrassed we couldn’t land him.

We're close to "Lamarcus days" again.
Bob Myers is still unemployed, correct?

It's the NBA..s*** changes every season. That's why no Western Conference Finals winner, has even made it out of the 2nd rd, in the next season. Since Golden State

Anyone with eyes could see that.

Like I said, I am ok with Derozan for MLE if we keep DLO. Need the 3 point shooting and JJ may be able to get more from him.

i don't understand the path to derozan unless lebron just pays him the mle. why would we trade a useful player for him? why would chicago take back a non-useful player for him.

if lebron wants derozan so bad, take the full cut for him. but don't make us trade a rotation player so that you can earn 10 more million. that doesn't improve the team.

and that has to be the plan, because it turns out that was the klay plan. in order to sign someone to the ntpmle, we'd have to get from 190 in salary all the way down to like, 166. lebron could take that 50% cut, but that wasn't the plan. the plan was for dlo's 18 million to eat up most of the difference. it's not as noble as it was painted by rich paul, imo.

so yeah, i'm rooting pretty hard against a derozan pickup at this point unless it's for like, gabe and reddish to get him something like the mle. but chicago has no reason to just eat gabe's salary, so that kind of thing isn't happening. i'm sure they'd take dlo, if only to trade him later as an expiring, but dlo to derozan is a downgrade for us, much like to dlo to klay was potentially a downgrade.

let's get one or two of these done soon plz.

I've had this feeling for the past few days that we just overpay for DFS and that's our big move. Have to say, if it's DFS and then whatever center we can find from the scrap heap...that's not good enough.

If we deal for Grant and don't do another trade (still think Blazers + Bucks is our best remaining all-in move), I'm curious what other assets we can get from them. Rob Williams can't stay healthy, otherwise I'd be interested there. I do like the thought of Thybulle as a backup wing, he's GREAT on defense.

Utah worries me. I think that might drag out too long while they decide what to do with Lauri and by then the rest of the market has dried up.

I am starting to question Bron's BBQ once again... Is he a moron and doesn't understand that DDR is a hot pile of garbage for this team?

    Also, who's DFS @JSM ?

Don is taken too. There's really no big swings out there.
Biggest are Lavine or DeMar, each with their downsides.

Let's run it back and see what marginal improvements we can get. I think during the season a few names will become available for DLo expiring

Does anyone have an updated list of dollar amounts different teams still have to spend? Seems like everyone is spending money except us.

Also seems like Clippers have double the roster spots.
