I like Cranjis, but I don’t understand many of the advanced analytics he uses and often see him use analytics to draw a bizarre conclusion that doesn’t match the eye test.



Here are some metrics he pulled out that make it look like DiVincenzo is better than Reaves and Bruce Brown

but yeah, i feel like he's been way off on plenty of player value assessments. to the point where i take it with a grain of salt.

also, not sure i wouldn't take player A in that scenario anyway? and brown/ddv are basically a wash to me. i like brown a little more for us because ddv is more like reaves, who's better and already here.

 

Unfortunately I think things are trending towards us striking out with the MLE and splitting on Schröder and someone else.

Again though, I don’t think that’s the worst thing in the world. Schröder’s defense and energy was very important for us. If he is commanding greater than the TPMLE, choosing to keep Beasley/Bamba on their existing contracts and letting Schröder walk would have been a mistake IMO. I get that they could have been nice matching salary for a trade down the line to replace Schröder or get back someone even better, but so far it looked like nothing was on the table.

Overall though, going to reserve judgement until we see how things fully play out

breen is now the only decent part of ESPN's bball department. i enjoyed JVG, but jackson, perkins, rose, jefferson, etc are just garbage. they need to completely revamp their bball analysts, or better yet, just give the rights to NBC

 

Unfortunately I don’t see how it’s possible. Without Beasley/Bamba, we currently don’t really have any matching salary to send out in a trade.

Most we could cobble together would be Vanderbilt and Christie for about $5.3 million, but that’s not enough for Zubac (and I wouldn’t do that even if it did match)

 

JVG was hit or miss. Sometimes he’d be hilarious or offer insightful analysis, but other times he’d rant too much or go off on an unrelated tangent.

But for ESPN to fire JVG and keep Mark Jackson is insane. Jackson and Reggie Miller might be my two most disliked broadcasters

 

I didn't know that he signed new contract for 11 mil..

 

sorry, but there’s not a player throughout NBA history who I dislike more than Beerdo McFloppington. He represents all that is wrong with the modern game.
