Nice job every time you do these with the great league personnel highlight capsulations whenever there’s worthwhile news, and virtually keep them up to date by every couple hours if not actually almost in real time. Not a trivial amount of ongoing effort!

    :Beertoast2:

I’ m sure Rob lurks …. why would he not …. saves him a lot of time too!

Fortunately, the apron is expected to be 3 million over the original 169 million, so the apron is 172M. So, in theory that is some excellent cap gymnastics, but we may have to leave a little wiggle room. Could mean Dlo has to take 17M, or we just keep Beasley, or we trade Beasley for a player who makes no more than 17M. We could also trade for a 12.5 M player (via Beasley or Bamba), and still be able to use the 4.5 M BAE.

Bruce Brown not the best shooter in terms of volume, but he burned us in the playoffs, and he would look great i the starting line up as a 3 and D wing alongside Christie.

Ham would love Brown at SF. He is 6-4. Plays bigger though.

It must be free agency season. Apparently the Lakers are going to sign a bunch of big name people to their team for cheap. We’re winning the title for sure next year guys.:speechless:

Brown is also only 26, almost 27, and obviously has the championship pedigree.

Problem is a lot of duplication with Reaves, JHS, and possibly Brown and/or Dlo.

Another nuance to free agency I had overlooked: While the period to match a RFA offer has been lowered to only 24 hours… that 24 hour clock wouldn’t start until the offer sheet is signed AFTER the moratorium.

So if for example San Antonio really wanted to throw a max offer at Reaves and agreed to terms on Friday as soon as the negotiation period started, they’d be tying up their cap space until we had to match on July 7th (Well the cap space wouldn’t technically be tied up because it would still just be a verbal agreement they could renege on, but that would be highly unlikely).

The optimist in me is hopeful that means these limited teams with cap space just aren’t going to be that interested in going after Rui/Reaves, and we end up just quickly coming to terms with them on friendly deals our own without having to deal with the RFA shenanigans

Realistically though, that may mean this process is just going to drag on for a while. For example, San Antonio reaches out to Reaves camp and tells them they might have a max offer sheet waiting for him, but they’ll need until closer to the start of the moratorium period to confirm as they need to explore their options. Probably wouldn’t be the best foot forward if they were seriously trying to sign Reaves, but he’d still be incentivized to wait on them rather than settling for our lower offer

Kai Jones could be this season's Lonnie Walker.

I bet he’s one of those guys that will go to the Suns for the minimum, but he’s an interesting free agent

Well so the only new wrinkle is the clock to match going down to 24 hours, all the other stuff about how the clock won’t start until after the moratorium period I’m pretty sure already applied.

So maybe I’m overstating how much of a deterrent that might be for suitors of our RFAs

I thought they'd keep him until they could move him later in the season.

    But here's the why

I haven’t paid much attention to him lately, so just assumed he’s getting closer to being washed. Probably a worse defender at his age.

But hey, he shot 42% from 3 on 5 attempts a game in his time with the Clippers.

If we end up declining Beasley to open up the full MLE, Gordon to replace him on the minimum would be pretty sweet
