Flippers will continue to make bad decisions. Ballmer may have the money, but he surely doesn’t have the vision to build a real contender.

I would not be upset one bit if we pretty much ran it all the way back, just add whoever we get with the 17th pick and try to strike gold with another minimum signing or two.

DLo on a 2 year deal, Rui and Reaves on 4 year deals. TPMLE on Schröder, non-bird rights raises for Lonnie and TBJ. Pick up Beasley’s option, guarantee Bamba’s deal.

Give the team time to gel, allow the FO to evaluate the best position of need after seeing our fully healthy team spend some regular season time together. See if DLo/Beasley can revive their value, see if Bamba can actually be that budget stretch 5 we’ve been looking for.

Be patient and eventually I think a good trade opportunity would arise, and we’d have the salaries to put together a solid package without having to worry about hard cap or other limitations.

i think when you're giving up two guys you never played, and it keeps him from us, yes it probably is. now...could a similar package net porzingis or someone like that?

anyway, if the clips get cp3, i hope it has the side benefit of lighting a fire under jeanie. clippers payroll is at 190 WITHOUT gordon or plumlee on the books. meanwhile, we're probably fiddling around at the first apron. you want to compete?

been saying it for a while. inevitably, some star will get disgruntled by february. what if we have the whole squad that ended last year at our disposal to trade, plus the 2029 pick? we're going to be able to beat offers. we'll have both expirings (bamba, beasley) and cost-controlled young players (rui, christie, dlo, vando, 17th pick if we keep it). we'd be competitive in the market. and that's assuming we're not just kicking a** and gearing up for the playoffs.

Portland just seems so dumb: they pair Bam with Lillard and guess what they still may not even the playin in the West
    Lil

    In no particular order:
These teams would be clearly better IMO
    Denver
    LAL
    GS
    Sacramento
    Phoenix
    OKC
    Memphis

Thats 7 right there and not including Dallas, Minnesota and NOP!

Yeah, the middle of the West may not be awesome but there are just so many teams to jump. They'd need a massive trade or two that makes them a clear Top 4 team in the West to justify giving up #3 and future draft capital for a 2ish year window with Dame. Taking Scoot, trading Dame and Simons and moving forward with a Scoot/Sharpe foundation is clearly the way to go.

especially because teams are trying to screw them right now, based on the tea leaves.

if i were them, i'd start a bidding war for lillard. do the same thing he's doing: say you've tried your best to work it out, and it's not happening. but you don't have a no-trade clause, and you signed a long extension. so the miami package is laughable. look more at what durant fetched.

I actually think am the Blazers trade idea of #3/Simons for PG13 is a good deal for the Clippers.

PG13/Kawhi hasn’t gotten the clippers very far in the post season, and it allows the team to rebuild while not completely sucking with Scoot and Simons.

Think of it in the perspective of 3-5 years from now, Scoot could be Ja Morant-like while Kawhi and PG13 are 38 years old.

Yeah, Charlotte doesn't yet have a foundation to build on. Compare where they are to OKC. Richards and Mark Williams looked interesting, Miller is a nice fit. They should still build 2 more years and see if LaMelo can play a season.

    PREACH!

I wouldn't mind CP3 on the Clippers. Their problem is not quality of the team, is availability. When they are healthy, they are really good. But they are never healthy so feel free to trade depth/assets for a 38y old CP3. He will be good for them, orchestrate the offense and giving great looks to 2 killers. But when it matters, the only important thing is that both are there, with or without CP3

I remember saying a month ago that I was ready for a boring summer. But I think we will do something, Pelinka is like that (see post-title summer)

Absolutely. I really don't understand them, it's a no brainer. Maybe it's just PR and they are doing that behind the curtains

    Hachi.
Will be able to sign for cheaper, can still improve defensively, can guard bigs with solid frames, takes higher percentage jumpers, and won’t complain about his role.

I mean, they butchered the second half of their season for Westbrook's revenge tour against us so I wouldn't be surprised about this.
