LeBron will be gone soon, please don't trade this team away in a quest for a chip,

We got lucky fixing the Westbrook debacle, we won't get lucky twice.

Allow the team to keep playing together, we can churn out some of the role players.

We can chase another star when LeBron is gone

With what? It's not like we get to use Lebron's salary to do it.

D'Angelo still controls his own fate IMO. As much as I rag on him, I'd be rather shocked, if he pulled another no show against Denver.

Maybe I'm just an optimist..at the moment, I don't really want to trade anybody.

Vando's salary jumps up to $10 million next season, I'm putting him in a trade for an upgrade at guard before Rui.

Hell NO to one dimensional Trae and no to Mitchell.
    Run it back!
Giving up on Rui AND Reaves for either of these guys would set us back.
We aren’t winning another Chip with LeBron so just play out the string and don’t succumb to the dumb “three star method.”

I'd play hardball. I don't think we'd giving up Rui and Reaves, but I would give up ONE of them.

Maybe Russell opts or we figure something else out, but I would like to think you wouldn't have to give up Rui and Reaves.

I don't think the 3 star model is dumb, I think the trade for Russell was bad and that kind of experienced soured our whole thinking on the model, but I think it can work.

That's just me, though. I truly believe Rob is big game hunting this summer, IMO.

So, who do you think Cleveland will want then for Mitchell?
The only valuable players we have under contract are Rui and Reaves, and other teams will be able to beat that as well as be able to send out more picks.

Yeah. It would be nice to keep one of them. I probably wouldn't let either hold me back from getting Mitchell though. He's good and in his prime. We can definitely build around him and AD post LeBron.

I'd think Mitchell would have to force his way to us though.

No to Dame, hell no to Young and probably no to Mitchell. Im not sure there is a player ("pipe dreams" not included), that makes me really ecstatic.

He's better than Westbrook but not the guy I am willing to trade all our assets for and gut the team. That's just dumb.

I agree. Honestly, Dlo is the better fit for this team and would be significantly cheaper. They are very similar players for the most part, but Tre really differentiates himself with his ability to attack the basket and draw fouls. However, with our current roster, we already have guys who could do this. Lebron, AD, and even Reaves excel in this area. That is the primary reason why Westbrook didn't fit. When you remove Tre's ability to do that, Dlo is the better fit. What is the ideal point guard for a Lebron and/or Reaves/AD led team? IMO, this: three-point shooting (particularly catch and shot), ability to take care of the ball, but at the same time be low usage, unselfish, defense. For his career, Dlo hits 3.1/8.3 three per 36 minutes for 37%, while Young hits 2.7/7.7 for 35%. Russell is a career 26.7% usage player, while Young is 32.3. Then, on the defensive side, Dlo is has a career defensive box plus minus of -1.2, while Young's is -2.2. In terms of passing, the two players are a wash imo. Young gets more assists due to his driving and high usage, but Dlo is just fine in the context of our offense. Moreover, Dlo would likely cost 25 million at the most for 2024-2025, while Tre Young's contract cost 40 million.

Career three-point field goals that were assisted:

    Dlo 63%
    Tre 33%

We already know Dlo is an exceptional catch and shoot player. Why would the Lakers mess with this and add a Tre Young, who we don't know how he would do with lower usage and more catch and shot opportunities. I mean, it's not like Tre is a bad shooter, like WB is, but still.

Name one trade, that the media has correctly predicted, Rob making as the GM? I'll wait..

Hell..besides a guy trying to force himself, to a particular team publicly, name any trade that the NBA "insiders", have called correctly beforehand, in recent memory.

Yet,..folks still assume that these guys, must have all this "inside" information. Free Agency or trades, they fail 95% of the time to be accurate IMO.

Trae will probably be traded, but I doubt the Lakers, ever seriously enter the conversation at all.
